Prank Phone Calls

My refrigerator is running constantly, freezing everything. As I cluelessly tried to figure out how to fix it, I remembered the old prank call of "Is your refrig running? Yes? Then you better catch it before it runs out the door"

Stupid and annoying, of course. But back in the day at about age 10, prank calls could entertain me and my buddies for hours. Some of my favorite Simpsons scenes are Bart calling Mo at the bar... Is there a Amanda Huginkiss here?

With caller ID, this charming, quaint practice seemingly has come to an end.

Anyone else enjoy randomly dialing numbers as a bored youth? What was your go-to?

It came to an end for me when the operator called my house and asked to speak with my parents.

my best friend and I were around age 15 and we would ride the Path trains and go on little adventures. one time my friend picks up the PA transmitter in our car and says " next stop albuqurque new mexicooooooooo " like wc fields, it was loud and clear.

it took about 5 to 10 seconds and the conductor comes rushing in and stands a few feet from us and excitedly yells " who just did that? " we just sat there and said " not us "

The company I work for sells appliance service contracts on frigs, stoves, a/c, furnances, etc. last April 1 one of our employees calls our 1-800 and another rep picks up. This employee pretends to be this Indian guy, thick accent and all, asking about our contracts and all these stupid appliances he wants to cover. He asks how much a contract for a garage door opener would cost and the rep explained that we don't offer that coverage to which the employee acts all irate. The rep finally gets him calmed down about it so then he asks how much it would cost to cover his plasma tv and the rep says we don't cover tvs and he gets all irate again. The conversation lasted a good 15 mins before the employee finally told the rep April Fools but it was hard as hell for me to sit there and not laugh my ass off!!!!!!!

That was the best prank call ever!
