that's what they use to call movies that didn't get a theatrical release.....
I think I just saw the Gone with the Wind of hack movies while I was painting my house....
Ticker
a 100 times better than Skyscraper with Anna Nicole Smith
It has a fantastic cast of has beens.....
Steven Segal, Dennis Hopper, Tom Sizemore, Jamie Pressly, Naz, Ice-T, Billy Preston, and Peter Greene.....
It's possible there could have been a better use of the "talent" on hand.
I might actually watch this mess again. Anyone else enjoy garbage?

It's difficult for people to understand since the screening was a disaster with no sound, etc.
but I'm still negotiating a theatrical release....
and win my Oscar so let's tick with...
Crap.

Wow - I was under the impression "Ticker" was made for SpikeTV. I thought it was part of their low-budget action line.

Good to know...

When a film isn't released theatrically it can wind up in many unsavory places....Spike TV is certainly one of the worst.

Poultrygeist on DVD would be nice, I got a chance to see it and actually enjoyed it. Mostly because I enjoy Troma Films and low budget horror. I will definitely pick that up.

I guess its another reason why I am anticipating a release of GAP.

also when it comes to STV 95% of them are completely avoidable. Mostly because they are bad for the sake of being bad. Sometimes it doesn't seem like some of them try.

For example take Steve Miner's Day of the Dead. . .

oh now I'm angry again just thinking of that piece of crap STV.

Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town ruled!! We have this horror film convention in Indy, one on Sunday actually. All these independent filmmakers hock there movies for, like 5-10 bucks a pop, and I just load up on all these "shitty little movies". Troma usually sets up there own booth there.

Back when I was in NJ, I went to Chiller Theatre for a couple of reasons. . .

Troma was definitely high up on the list, but merchants selling bootlegs of Asian Cinema was an added bonus

Yeah, this is the link to the thing in Indy. Danny Trejo and Dante from Clerks are gonna be there with a shit load of other people. But the best reason to go is to catch screenings of unreleased horror flicks and really cheap bootleg movies.

BTW, Tom Savini is gonna be there. He's a fucking dick, punch him in the face if you ever see him.

Or you can come to DC and see it July 17 at the Spooky Movie Film Festival: Midsummer Night's Scream! I talked with him and his folks this last week, and (while I can't promote it just yet) it's 99% there that I've got it and Lloyd in the house, and hopefully afterwards to do a master class.

Lloyd is in no hurry to get it to DVD. He says so right on the Poultrygeist website. This is a film - 35mm and all. It was NEVER planned as a direct-to-video flick. It is clear that he has the mechanism to get it out there anyway he wants through his DVD division, but he is very proud of this film and (true to the old fashion way of doing things) he's taking it to fests and cities one at a time and showing it off. And along the way he's getting fantastic reviews - including Variety.

I think everyone has a Savini is a dick storyline - I actually like him because he is a dick.

He's kind of salty he's not at the Horrorfind Weekend (http://www.horrorfindweekend.com)this weekend - it's the all Romero tribute weekend and he wasn't included.

Dude, I had just seen Grindhouse, and was asking him if he designed the effect when he gets ripped into pieces. He was like "Yeah", in a real dickish, no shit kinda way. I asked for a picture and he turned away from me.

And one of the babysitter chicks from Planet Terror wouldn't get off her phone. Super fucking rude.

My first Savini moment happened about 25 years ago (no lie), when I was a teenager and I went to meet just at my first convention. I told him how much I loved "Maniac" and he looked at me in disgust about how sick and awful it was. Cracked me up. He then went on to tell the coolest stories of working with Romero and Savini on "Creepshow."

Fast forward to about 2000 when i get back into the horror world circuit, and see him again - and everyone has stories (real, hard core dickish stories) about what an awful, bitter person he is (btw, he hasn't done actual special effects in a movie since the early 90s - and even then, like his directing credit on the NOTLD remake, others did most of the work). I've seen him enough now these last 8 years that he finally knows who i am (more because of shared friends). I expect nothing from him but to be a bitter dick, and he never disappoints, so it amuses me still. The fact that most conventions won't actually book him - he has to buy dealer room space at some key ones and peddle himself - also cracks me up.

Still - over the years - I've seen some off hand, imrpomptu moments of funny brilliance from him just fucking around away from the dealer room area. An elevator at Chiller - an esculator at a Horrorfind and even two weeks ago in Cherry Hill, NJ I saw him be really funny with fans - usually on his own terms, when no one is looking or expecting anything. Whenever the realize what's just happened, he's bolted.

On the flip side, a friend of mine at Monster Mania (the one at Cherry Hill) was getting a lot of attention from the fans there from just walking around, and while talking to Savini he got interupted to have his picture taken with people - not Tom. Something else for me to laugh at.

Ugh - I'd make the Grindhouse babysitters wait for me to get off my phone before I talked to them, and even then there's nothing those hacks have that i'd bother with. Sorry. I really don't get their appeal.

The worst celeb experience I've ever had was with John Landis who is just an off the chart douche, I almost loath everything i once loved from him. After that was Jodie Foster, but that was work related and not the convention atmosphere.

The best celebs, in my opinion, at these shows are Michael Berryman, Sid Haig, Joe Palato, Reggie Bannister, Ken Forree, Dee Wallace Stone and from the original "Night of the Living Dead" - Kyra Schon and Bill Hinzman. They are the folks you can meet and chat up with in the bars at night and have a good time (yes, even ET's MOM!)

The kid that played little Jason on Friday the 13th is ALWAYS at those things, but he puts on a fucking show, man.

The nicest I've ever met was Jonathan Demme - a really down to earth guy who was cooler than cool. About a year later I became friends with the man who I found out gave Demme his first job in hollywood (as an intern for UA), and even introduced him to Corman.
