what is teh longest you have ever slept?
this may include passing out due to near alcohol poisoning, coming off a week-long meth high, and or sleeping pills.

i think the longest i've ever slept was 11 hours.

18 hours.

After a full day of work and snow skiing, while drinking, overnight til the sun came up.

My buddy once slept for what I'm estimating as 32 out of a possible 33 hours. Does this have to be consecutive sleep? cause even when he was up for that hour chugging gatorade and eating an egg sandwhich, he wasnt actually functioning. he was just replenishing fluids so he could fall back into his hangover coma.

I've gone to bed early Saturday morning and woken up Sunday and not realizing I missed Saturday a few times in my day. It's probably around 13-15 hours. All sorts of mania preceded those comas.

I have slept for 19-20 hours a few times.

I'll sleep 12 hours straight quite often.

Easily over 24 hours, but just one time... when I was younger my mother always used to come and wake my sister and me up in the morning... except this one Saturday. She might've been feeling depressed or sick or something, but she just never came to wake us up. So we never got up. I was probably about 11. I remember it was amazing to have a day with just quiet nothingness.

Also, after a big night of drinking I can't sleep late. I always get up really early the next day. I'm always exhausted the next day and on the verge of collapse, but I love that feeling. It's so relaxing to be hungover and exhausted. I just can't sleep through it for some reason. I've got to get up just to lay around.

This usually happens to me when I have a hangover, I wake up at like 7 or 8. I think it's because of dehydration

After 30 straight hours of snow plowing, I slept for 20 hours.

It took a month to feel normal again.

I still think it's illegal to make your employee work a thirty hour shift.

I think you're right. I just can't sit still. It's around 6 or 7 that I just HAVE to get up. But lately it's even after as little as 3 beers. I'm so lame

I sleep at least 9 - 10 hours every single day.

But I think the longest I've ever slept was after a multi day fun fest, when I completely crashed. I fell asleep Tuesday morning and I think I woke up some time on Thursday afternoon.

Its actually too much sleep. I wake up just so fucking groggy and it takes me forever to snap out of it.

But, I haven't had to wake up to an alarm in over 10 years, so that's pretty awesome.

After coming home from boot camp (was kicked out of the Navy for mental issues, go figure), I had about 20 hours of deep, uninterrupted sleep. With the little one on the way, I now know that will NEVER happen again.

Way back when, back when I did a shit load of crank, I slept for about 3 days. I woke up in between, but never got out of bed other than to pee. Didn't even eat or get a drink. Just went back to bed. That was one of the last times I did hard drugs.

When I was a kid my family used to go down to Wildwood, NJ for two weeks. Every night I would be up to 3:00 in the morning and every morning I'd be up at 7:00. And there was absolutely no down-time in between. It was constant football on the beach, or boogie-boarding in the ocean, or swimming in the pool, waterpark, pier rides, boardwalk etc. etc. I clearly remember one year when we got back home I went to bed at 5:00 pm and woke up the next day at 7:00 pm

when i was younger i'd say 14 or 15 hours. there was probably a few hang over days i slept more, but not straight thru. i just couldn't get up without getting sick.

i'd love to get 9 or 10 straight hours some time soon.

I had bronchial pnuemonia when I was in my early 30's and the Dr. gave me cough syrup with double the amount of codine. Now I never took drugs before so this shit knocked me the fuck out. I was sleeping for 19-21 hours a day for about 3 days.

Several years later I went to vegas and stayed up for about 37 hours straight (including the plane ride home). Got home and passed out for about 17 hours. Turns out I came down with Epstein Barr syndrome. I slept on average for about 16 hours a day for 3 weeks.

I know some people think it would be relaxing to be able to sleep for that long of an amount of time but trust me, it's not. After a while my back was killing me from the shitty mattress I had.

i can't imagine i've ever slept more than 10 hours. if you're sleeping 9-10 regularly and waking up groggy, you should really see a doctor and think aboot checking out a sleep clinic.

and i don't know if i buy 36 hours of sleep. i would think your body would force you to get up to drink or pee at some point in there, unless you're not counting that time.

Right now I have a big ass bottle of delicious "Tussinex". It is cough syrup with a shitload of time released hydrocodone (vicodin) in it. I call it my "Magic Syrup". 1TSP of that and I'm out like a rock the entire night.

I think I'm just depressed.

i think this is a fair assessment.
do you exercise? even just 20 minutes a day of light cardio. because this can help get the blood moving and help you to feel more refreshed when you sleep. it can also help with the depressed feelings.

i go through this battle now and then.... and that always seems to help.

It's sort of a vicious cycle. I started feeling depressed, so I stopped working out. Then I got fat, which made me more depressed, and made me not want to work out more.

But I have started exercising again, and I'm starting to feel better.

I stayed up for about 50 hours in a college and when I finally did sleep, it was around 15 hours, and that was it.

Now I don't sleep past 9am because I have to walk my dog, no matter how late I stayed up the night before. I nap a lot more now, especially on the weekends.

That's how my b.f. is. he can easily sleep 10-13 hours if i don't pry his ass out of bed. I feel like shit if i go over 7 and my body starts to hurt from laying around 8 1/2-9 hours.

I used to get trashed, go to bed at 4am and wake up at 9, it really sucked and i felt like shit all day.

Most i ever slept was probably in H.S. i would be in bed for days on end when i would get depressed, not wake up at all unless it was to use the bathroom. :flush:

I'd check your state labour laws, here it's 12 hours unless an 'unforseeable' emergency occurs. After 14 the employer must provide you with a meal and absolutely no work after 16 hours.... Then you have to have 8 hours of rest before your next shift can start, that means 8 hours of home time, not including the drive from work to home.

My freshman year of college...first week of football two-a-days started on Wednesday and went through Saturday with Sunday off. Got back to my room at 7:00pm on Saturday, asleep by maybe 7:03, and woke at around 1:00 pm Sunday afternoon. I felt like I had been in a coma.

Now I'm lucky if I get 6 hrs a night...

This was back when I used to go out 4-5 nights a week and still work a laborer job in the city.
I went out one night, got home at about 4am, took a power nap for an hour, got up at 5am, went to work, worked 10hr day when I used to work construction. Got home, planned to go out that evening again, so I took another power nap at around 6:30pm Sat, and woke up around 5ish PM Sunday. Took me like a good 5 minutes to realize it wasnt Sat anymore cause it was winter time and it was dark outside.

Do dirt naps count? Because my dad took one in 1980, and I'm still waiting for him to wake up..Only cause he's in the living room and my mom needs the space..
Longest time asleep: is easily 20 hours, which I've come close to more than a few times..
Longest time awake: over 72 hours three days plus about eight hours with no drugs involved..

We were shooting in Arizona and it was my job to start on set in the morning, fly up to Colorado, scout, trouble shoot, and prepare for my crews arrival the next morning. All told I was up working for 36 hours straight before I could no longer function and ended up passing out. (they asked me to hand out call sheets and couldn't mentally process exactly what that entailed)

I woke up 18 hours later, totally missing most of the shoot day. But it was a GREAT 18 hours of sleep.
