When I was a kid, I had a classmate who was MUCH shorter than his average sized dad. His last name was Grew. Whenever someone said his whole name, someone else always said, "No he didn't".

BTW... One parent for me. I'm the same hight as my father at 5'9" or 5'10", but my mom is only 5'1.

I'm taller at 5'7 than my mom, who is 5'2, and am now the same height as my dad, who used to be 5'9 but has shrunk in his old age.

My dad is about 5'7", my mom about 5'9", I'm 5'11"... to be fair, my mother used to be taller but shrunk after her hysterectomy. Everyone from my mother's side is freakishly tall...kind of big and goofy looking.

I'm about 5'8"
Mom is 5'6" (although she claimed for the longest time to be 5'8")
Dad is around 5'8" or 5'7" ... so we are pretty close in height. I think I'm a fraction of an inch taller, though.

The brothers, on the other hand, are both 6'5" and my sister is about my height.

So humans are getting taller. I wonder if the evolutionary process is responding to the recent human need to change lightbulbs and get dishes from the top shelf.

I'm genetically recessive then. My dad was 6"4', mom 5"8' and I measured in at 6"2'.

Taller than Mom by an inch, shorter than my father by 4 inches, and shorter than my two younger biological brothers (by 3 inches and 6 inches).

My dad's side of the family is really odd height-wise. Dad and one of his sisters are "average" height (he's just shy of 6 feet, she's about 5'5"), but one of his younger brothers and his other sister were fairly short at just barely 5 feet. Meanwhile, his "baby" brother is 6'5" and has a son of his own who's almost 7 feet tall.
