This morning I realized that following Fez from the opening of pandora's box, languishing in distress, attempts at recovery, and finally (hopefully) resolution and disorder maitenance will be thought of as pretty groundbreaking when it's all said and done. Psychologically you get to see alot of interesting things here- How Ronny who has a history of 12 step programs approach differs from Dave who grew up with brothers and brings negative attention to himself to diffuse tension. How some listeners want to coddle Fez, and some resent him. How Fezs mental health makes him both intimidating and intimidated. We're basically watching (listening) raw footage from a documentary, and when it's given scope its going to be a very significant thing.
It's great that the Ron and Fez show is an environment where stuff like this can happen, and is essentially hosting a nationwide 'group' session. Anyone who bitches about the tone of the show should consider that it might be helping people, like Fez, who don't know to identify thier problems in external sources to make them more managable. I love the show when its funny, but this whole thing is some really extraordinary and new.
