who clearly makes the better beer?
the micro brewery small guy, or the fat pocketed corporate minion brewmaster?

i am really starting to show my bag to the "macro" (if you will) brewers.

i just found a 2 year old (or more) beers of america set that i had, and all be damned if they are better than anything else out there.

p.s. i cant get banned for posting a poll, right?

Micro brews all the way.
I know sometimes they can get a bit silly, trying the quirky or unique angle. but i still go microbrews when i can.

I'm not much of a beer drinker anymore, but if I'm going to drink it I want one that has a unique flavor, not some piss water like Budweiser.

It's like asking if you'd rather have a meal prepared by a chef or fast food.

Try a 90 minute IPA from Dogfish head. Best beer out there.

There's quite a few Microbrews that are actually owned by the big guys. They just don't put their name on the product because they don't want to ruin the "small" image the microbrews have.

Matty doesn't call me a "beer snob" for nothing.

I enjoy Fat Tire, which is one you can't get east of the Mississippi ... I had it in AZ and enjoyed it very much.

I enjoy many Victory Brewery beers (from Philly) despite their tendency towards extreme hoppiness...their Prima Pils is really good with hard, strong-flavored cheeses like Parmesan and Romano.

When I was in college, I used to follow the seasonal brews at Harvest Moon Brewery & Cafe on George Street in New Brunswick...and if Princeton hadn't been crawling with University, Municipal and State police the night I went to Triumph Brewery on Nassau Street, I'd have sampled one of theirs brewed in honor of the Ben Franklin Tricentennial. But, with an 8% alcohol content and my "reputation" as a super-lightweight when it comes to alcohol, I didn't want to risk getting pulled over.

Yes, I am still bitter about this.

(Stupid Jon Corzine with his damned inagural ball.)

Im the most non patriotic beer drinker you'd meet. My favorite beers are from Canada, UK, Germany and Japan.

I like Guinness. I find the micobrews hit or miss. If it's only domestic I'll take a Bud.

I've been drinking Brooklyn Local 1 recently. Brooklyn Brewery may not be considered a micro-brew at this point, but the local one is brewed at the small brewery in Brooklyn as opposed to Utica where a lot of the Brooklyn Beer is made.

I love magic hat. And they have a really good organic beer.

I hate a lot of other beers except for stella cause I like water.

I loooove Circus Boy and Jinx by magic hat.

And their organic stuff is called Peak Organic, i think,

Yay beer.

Want a Better Beer?? Drink Abita Beer

Proudly brewed in Louisiana.

Shiner Bock is also one of my favorites, brewed in Shiner Texas . You can't get it any closer to NYC than maybe Delaware

I am a microbrew guy. Even thought they can be hit or miss, they are usually made with more care and have a much fuller taste profile than mass produced American beers.

And I qualified that as American beers - there are many mass produced European beers that are really good. Much better than their American counterparts.

Locally, I really like Troegs (Harrisburg, PA) and Victory (Downingtown, PA).

The best beer I have ever had is at the Selin's Grove Brewing Company (http://www.selinsgrovebrewing.com/) (Selinsgrove, PA). They don't mass produce their beer, but if you are in the area it is DEFINITELY worth the trip. The brewery & pub are in the basement of the house and is essentially an updated Colonial tavern. Amazing beer and great food. Even beer styles I don't like I can sit and drink. They have really mastered small-batch brewing.
