To that "bob" look. Shorter than shoulder length.

STOP.

Thank you.

That's cause they're all pregnant.... and pregnant chicks are hot.

Just the opposite here, I've been letting mine grow since November. I can't be bothered with a bob cut right now (with my current knocked-up figure, it wouldn't look right IMO), and I always like pulling it back in a ponytail when I don't have time to style it.

Quiet, you. When it's done right, that's standing on the sun-hot.

When it's done by a professional and makeup and lighting gets you a nice magazine cover, sure, it can look good.

But I'm seeing more and more women in the city who THINK they have that look... but they are no where near it. Keep it long ladies.

As a professional I can weigh in on this "trend". Although the Bob is a classic hairstyle and has been (and will be) around forever in various incarnations it is not a style for everyone. If one more person comes in with a picture of Posh Spice or Katie Holmes I might have to stab them in the neck with my shears! Especially if: 1) They look nothing like either one of them, by this I mean face shape not physical looks, 2) Their hair type is NOTHING like either one of them and 3) they don't want to spend ANY time styling it. I can only do so much, I am a beautician not a magician, its a comb not a magic wand!

End of rant...

I don't know how to describe it but on the right women it's hot. On the wrong ones it's an abomination.

I guess hunnerbun put it best, really. It has to do with face structure, hair type and sounds like she's saying it's NOT a "get up and go with minimal styling" kind of style. If you're not willing to fix if every morning it's gonna look like crap.

There is nothing worse than the typical short haired androgenous older canadian broad. Is it a law in Canada that once you hit fourty, you must make yourself look like a mold topped pear? Euch.

oprah just had a show where she gave all these women really short haircuts. theyd come out with there long hair, go back for the cut and come back looking magically middle aged. wonderful

This same shitty trend happened with "The Rachael" from Friends. So many girls who couldn't pull it off tried to.

As far as I'm concerned, any hetero male is also a professional on this issue.

I'm with Furtherman!

Ok, Friday had the sexy bob ever since I've met her... WAY before this trend started.

She is a perfect example of pulling it off.

I hate having long hair; it's a fricking bitch to deal with. I also hate having super-short hair; I have absolutely zero interest in doing that again.

My hair hasn't been longer than shoulder-length since I graduated from high school.

That was twelve years ago.

I really hate having long hair.

I tried the really short hair look once. It was not a good look for me. Now I usually have it shoulder length or longer. Much better look for me.

You're not nitpicking.

You're illustrating. It's actually important.

A bob haircut is a lot easier to pull off than a pixie cut. While you need great bone structure for both cuts to look good, the pixie cut hinges a great deal more on your hair type and texture, while someone who wants a bob has a few more options.

I have run the gamut on hair styles and colors.

This is from when i was roughly 18 or so because i had gotten this cut and color for graduation.

I think necks are way under appreciated. My lady has gone long and short over the years, each is great when done with an eye for quality. I will say that short gets us out of the house for events a lot quicker.
