Will there be a good turnout?

Who is planning to go?

Will Ronnie B bring politics into the arena?

I hope there will be a decent turnout. While this crowd does seem to look down on her, I happen to think there is some merit to her talents. She has never been regarded as a 'great artist', but she certainly has made a decent living doing what she loves. And I have to admire anyone who is able to pull that off. Especially in THIS business!

I know she's going to have a role in "24" this season. Perhaps Ron can bring that up and see how she can reconcile her distrust of government and big TV by appearing in this show.

I have a feeling Ron is going to be really bored during this one.

Why?

She's sexy. She's funny. She's smart. She was on one of Ron's favorite shows: Larry Sanders.

Seriously? Ron made Gallagher & Carlos Mencia seem interesting.

Jeanne is an interesting, thoughtful entertainer with a point-of-view and a wealth of diversified experience. I would guess that Ron would be interested in talking with her.

And honestly, I know that not everybody agrees with Jeanne's point-of-view, but that is no reason to shit on her as an entertainer.

And obviously Hicks and Garofolo are worlds apart (especially in quality)...I'm just talking about the willingness to go political and take those chances. Honestly, I can't see a comedian worth their salt that wouldn't find that somewhat intriguing.

I may not find her to be hilarious...but she may actually be a darn interesting unmasking.

She has my vote for sexy to. although her politics are completly opisit of mine id still bang her if i weren't maried. it will definately be entertaining if nothing more then the political land mine it could turn out to be.

I don't think Ron's goal during Unmasked is to be confrontational or berate the guests.

Also, I believe his politics are more similar to hers than different.

It should be a good show, though I am not a big fan of hers.

Ron has the ability to pull interesting information out of anyone. There were a few comedians I don't care for in the first season of Unmasked, but I have to say that every one was interesting to listen to its own way. Even Gallagher, who didn't seem like he wanted to be there to be Unmasked had its moments to listen to.

The only thing I've learned from all of these recent horrible threads is that Ron should find out the opinion of 3 or 4 morons before he agrees to any future Unmasked tapings. I'd sure hate for him to agree to interview anybody else these people don't like!

All in attendance had a blast; a great Unmasked, again. Janene was great Ron was great Fez was great warming up the crowd.

Yes she spoke politics, but we might remember the Unmasked show has an aim: its about the comedy process, how and why comedians do what they do.

I can understand not liking their comedy, but I don't see why anyone has a problem with Garofolo or Cho being interviewed. Unmasked is trying to reach an audience beyond 202 and like it or not, those two are bigger names than Jim Norton and Brian Reagan.

Total chaos! Janeane was late and popped her p's for the first 10 minutes of the interview, Ron came out before his introduction and threw off Fez's timing, and once again the bar was closed! They took the FUCKIN' BAR!

They desperately needed Earl's leadership.

But otherwise it was a good time. Definitely a different vibe than the Lewis Black show. She held her own with Ron and didn't come off preachy or holier than thou. She seemed down to earth and really intelligent. Managed to get a few digs in on Dane Cook and a lot of other laughs.

I got to say hi to Mike the Teacher and I may have been sitting next to Marc with a c without realizing it. All in all a great day in the city.

More people should try to make these.

Mike Teacher

She was late, so that didn’t help. After a nice intro by Ron things got ugly quick. She wanted to rant about communism instead of actually answering any of Ron’s questions. The audience was dead silent you could hear a pin drop.

He would just ask a question about comedy and she would go off as if she hadn’t heard about Cheney and the 2000 election. Ron finally said she could leave if she didn’t like it, she threw water in his face, and next thing Ms. Garofola’s neck is under Ron’s heel, and he’s screaming, ‘Make me fucking wait !?! Make these people wait… !!!’ and there really isn’t security so Franklyn and Fez got Ron off her long enough for her people to get her out of the room.

And I got two of the new Ron and Fez bumper stickers.

Janeane - All men should be killed and then we re-populate with Bill Clinton's sperm! Then we save the girls and kill the boys!
Ron- radical, but super terrific!
Janeane - When Hillary is elected, we're going to blow up Mount Rushmore, and then send a team of sculptors into space to carve the moon into a giant Hillary head! It will cost trillions, but let the middle class pay for it!
Ron - Wow, no more man in the moon...just Hillary!

I always thought she was kinda fun before but now I am in love. I can't stop thinking about her. She was so down to Earth and humble but strong and powerful at the same time. I loved hearing her take down people a few pegs. SO great.

Franklyn I think what won many over was Janene taking herself down a few pegs; seems whatever Medium they were discussing she focused as much on how she wasnt right for the show/role as much as the show/whatever being right for her, admitting insecurities and missteps of her own doing along the ride, and not in that self-loathing self-depricating way that we know she can do.

Sorry that watching intelligent lively discussion with Ron Bennington at an event that costs nothing to get in bores you.

=

For all the bitching and moaning about Unmasked and its guests; Ron is essentially running a 92nd St Y series of talks with comics, many superb A-listers, and it costs Nothing to get in. Zero. Nada.

For all the complainers, I understand; you're not happy in life nor with yourself, so you complain about anything that will allow you to shout your dislike of the world and yourself. To spray your negativity around you. It's a sickness.

=

Buit you didnt complain, you just gave an obervation that you fell asleep. Maybe you're narcoleptic, or just bored.

For the complainers though; yeah its terrible: Ron Bennington live interviews w/ comics for free. Terrible!

i loved both the Garofolo unmasked and the Cho unmasked and both women surprised me with things about them i didn't know, and my respect level for both has gone way up.

its funny, i could feel the love for Garofolo in the room growing by leaps and bounds, and by the end, i almost felt like i was in a church of desciples which was really interesting.

i can't say i felt the same way that chris and franklyn and many many others did about falling in love with janeane-- but i did love the unmasked.

and i learned a lot. very cool day, and further proof of why i will be at any unmasked that i can manage to get my ass too.

and for all the people who want to write margret cho off as being unworthy of an unmasked-- check out her unmasked when it airs. i enjoyed quite a bit. :)

just bored.

i was just bored. that was the time when she was getting into the air america stuff which i'd heard many times before. as forthcoming as she was, she didn't cover any new ground (unless you only know her as a comedian/movie actor/24 actor) in that part of the interview.

it has nothing to do with ron, but janeane said it early on in the interview, she rambles. she just happened to ramble into something that wasn't piquing my interest.

considering it was about 10 minutes out of 6 unmasked tapings i've attended so far, what do i have to bitch about? it was just an observation.

sadly and embarrassingly i was front row... i think she got one of her topics from when she stared right at me for about 20 seconds - she went off about how she'll be talking to someone, and they just start giving her this blank stare - the same blank stare i had at the time. :innocent:

It wasn't. They will be in NYC for 4 shows pretty soon, so it would be very cool to get one or all of them for Unmasked.

I just did a google search for "Kids in the Hall Unmasked" and someone on Wackbag said that Ron announced it as the next Unmasked on his AIM away message. If so, that's extremely cool.
