HK, I am seriously considering attending a military academy for college(I have wanted to attend the Air Force Academy since I was 11.) One of the major requirements is a congressional/presidential nomination. If you aren't familiar with the process, the official is allowed to nominate 10 candidates from their respective state and the president can nominate 10 Americans. If I can't get the nomination of my district congressman, I will need to get it from Chuck Schumer or Hillary Clinton, 2 politicians whose policies I strongly oppose. Do you think it would be wrong to accept their nomination?

In life Dragon, you'll run into people who you hate, who annoy you, who you utterly despise. the key to getting ahead is if they're your superior and you need them, you suck it up, kiss some ass, and if they throw down something you need, pick it up, say thank you and move on with your life.
If you know what you want to do with your life you shouldn't let anyone stand in your way.

I feel that if you want something, it doesn't matter who you use. It's the American way. If you have dreams, even if you don't like the person you use to reach them, I say go for it. Reaching your dreams is the most important thing.

NYD, I think it comes down to the fact that just because they are signing your form doesn;t mean you believe in what they do politically. If going to the AFA means that much to you, I would do whatever it takes to get there, even if it means getting a nomination from a political opponent.
IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME-AHHH!

NYD...Take the nomination from either of those spineless pices of crap!
You are going to be a great American...and they are just a part of the beauracracy that hinders the way to the prize.
Just bite your lip and do it!
God Bless America!

NYDRAGON - An interesting question and one that reflects a lot about you. Not everyone would even consider this a moral quandry.
Accepting a nomination from either of them does not constitute a personal endorsement of their policies or politics.
I urge you to get the nomination you need from them.

That could be bad... :)
A big part of it is that my father is a NY police officer.

It was certainly meant as a compliment.
