As announced on the show today, the Kids in the Hall (well, 3 of them -- Dave Foley, Scott Thompson and Kevin McDonald) will be featured on XM's Unmasked. Taping is this Friday at 3:30 pm at Comix Comedy Club in NYC (353 W. 14th Street). To request tickets, send an e-mail to live@xmradio.com with "Kids in the Hall" in the subject line.

So, with that out of the way, who's in? I sent my request in this afternoon and already got my confirmation, so I'm going. Anyone else?

It depends. I got mine really quickly this time -- I requested as soon as it was announced, and received my confirmation before 4:00 pm, but sometimes they don't go out right away.

Holy fuck, how good is this going to be. I can't wait to hear ronnie interview these guys. I first started watching these guys back in 1989. They were so ahead of their time. If only I didn't live 1200 miles from Comix. Have fun guys

my absolute favorite "kids in the hall" skit is the one where they are waiters at a fancy restaurant and they painstakingly discuss how to make the dipping areas larger on their popular dessert without messing up the chocolate dusting. Its a skit thats pretty much pointless, yet the funniest thing ive ever seen at the same time

First of all, you're wrong. Kids in the Hall is largely considered among the best of sketch comedy, and probably the best of their era. Second, have you post a single thing on this board that wasn't shitting on something? You seem to have a tremendous hard-on for Unmasked especially. If you're not into it, don't listen or attend.

I cant believe I cant make it to this one. The Kids in The Hall were a saturday night ritual with my friends and I. We would constantly quote the show. One of my all time favorites was the kid in the butcher shop.

"How much do you think my head weighs?"
-about 12lbs

"If my head were veal...how much would it be worth?"
-$65

"Nahh...I'm not ready to sell!"

hahahahahah!! fucking classic!

sorry Mr. Largefont. You would have an arguement about garafolo and cho, but Kids in the Hall are geniuses. And their shit holds up. I never laughed once at an SCTV skit, but I laugh just as hard at the Kids In the Hall dvds as I ever did. KITH are both critically acclaimed and beloved by people of all ages and types.

I listened to R/F when they were ronfez.com...I listened online when they were in DC...I got XM because they signed on...that's real negative!!! Even with Fez's troubles, the show is still the best on radio...that's negative!!! If you like Margaret Cho & Janeane Garafalo, etal...wonderful,shout it to the heavens!!! the ron & fezzie show to warm up the crowd was great

they killed, really put forth an effort to entertain (maybe a little too hard) ... might not have made for a great interview (a dave foley unmasked would be ideal), but it was the best free, midday comedy show i've ever seen

there was one douche question by someone trying to hard to be edgey (concerning female comedy), but sheepy was the real star of the day -- great timng and took things in stride

not bad for my first R&F event ...

Ron and Fez were great opening the show. The Kids came out and were a bit unruly at first, Scott inpaticular was over the top. I was gettting a little nervous that the interview was going to be a complete clusterfuck but everyone settled down enough so that Ron and the audience could ask questions. The KITH fed off of each other so well that the improv kept flowing and it was hysterical I had tears flowing a bunch of times. Ron did a great job of letting the three go off and be hysterical then slip in a question and sit back again a less patient interviewer could have gotten frustrated, if Ron was frustrated he didn;t show it.

Overall as an audience menber it was fantastic the KITH are so funny and smart the Vonneget stuff was brilliant truly a great afternoon. I'm not sure how it will play on unmasked however.

Checking in was great, very organized, Lily was right there checking the list, at Lewis Black faildozer was hovering around the check in but did nothingbut pace back and forth. The Q&A throughout the interview worked well. I'm interested in how Ron and Fez thought it went.

Sheepy looked geniunely scared when KITH molested him. Patty was Patty, the shock question guy was lame ( reusing the hack no women are funny line)

I think I was washing my hands in the bathroom with Lily's Jonathan, very exciting.

I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at any live show as I did today. Me and the two girls I bought were all commenting on how sore our cheeks were from laughing.

Scott was hilarious and extremely out of control for most of the interview. If they pull any audio from the first 20 minutes I'd be amazed, but the visuals should be pretty entertaining.
Scotts Andy Dick impression was hilarious!

Dave Foley was on fire. It was pretty impressive to watch him play off Scott one minute, then flip it around and play off Kevin or Ron. You could tell he was the ring leader of the three. Plus he solved a murder on the way in, so he's got that going for him.

Kevin's high pitched taunts to stalker patty "You want a piece of this?" (while pointing to Scotts ass) had me in tears.

All in all it was a great show and I couldn't imagine a better introduction to a live Ron and Fez (unmasked) event.

I saw a lot of people I recognized from the site and I wish I had more time to stop and introduce myself but I had to run and catch a flight (which I missed). Next time I'll stick around and say hi.

Almost forgot: I've never seen a more "Daddy help me" look than when sheepy was being molested by the KITH. Sheepy gets a gold star.

That was an excellent show. I'm curious how the edited version will end up, as it consisted of a lot of sight gags and Ron looking helpless. You could tell the KITH boys were having fun with the interview which is something I think they rarely get to experience. The repartee between Ron and KITH was truly outstanding. My only disappointment was that I learned about this weekend's "Unmassed" taping too late and probably won't be able to attend.

Couldn't. Was on the list and all set to go, but couldn't work around my family obligations.

Ditto.

Long story not gonna happen; I'll spare everyone, and just say it really really sucked missing it and everyone.

Thanks to everyone, had a great time being molested and Sheepy getting raped and then just dead panning his question was great. Can't wait to go the next one. Also meeting people from the site was really cool.

I'm in the same boat. I wish they could tape them a little later, like 5:00 or so. I can't wait to hear it. I hope they don't edit it too badly.

I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at any live show as I did today. Me and the two girls I bought were all commenting on how sore our cheeks were from laughing.

how much were they?

The George Carlin Unmasked (the only one not with Mr. Bennington) is supposed to end up as an extra on a Carlin DVD box set. I'm hoping that KITH release a DVD of their current performance and include the Unmasked on video as an extra.

I'm really glad that I went to the taping the other day. I was blessed to have that day off. And not just for unmasked, but for the beautiful weather that day too. I haven't been to a Ron/Fez or O and A event in a few years. Dave and Lilly were very professional and ran a great event.
I got the chance to ask a question which was cool. I knew it had to be something to get Scott Thompson going again so the only Dave Foley Kevin McDonald related question I could think of was the Sky High movie the two were in.
Did anyone else see Ron's face when Stalker Patty got to mic to ask them a question. He looked like a deer in headlights.

Kevins little weasel armed run around the stage gave me a chuckle. he is my favorite KITH.

I saw them at the Beacon Theater in 2002. I was in the 2nd row, the right side. GREAT SHOW!

Kevin is my MOST FAVORITE KiTH.

It was CITIZEN KANE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there video of this Unmasked available online or anywhere. I've seen a few videos from unmasked on You Tube but not this one. I would love to see the madness that this show was.

Not yet, but there is a podcast of the Unmasked video clips that you can subscribe to. Just do a search in the iTunes store for "XM Unmasked"

If they ever update it....

(And yes, they did release Janine Garafolo and Lewis Black clips two weeks ago, the week after the Janine one was played and there was no new Unmasked the following weekend)
