Just heard on the news that some school in VA banned the schoolyard game of Tag, b/c more and more kids started to going to the nurse with "scrapes and bruises".....

I read about this. What's stupid is, the game that's hurting kids ISN'T tag. It's some game where they gang tackle a kid (who may or may not be playing) and that kid has to basically fight his/her way out. THAT'S NOT TAG!!! Try banning the other stupid game, you idiots.

This tag involves grabbing people who do not necessarily know they are playing and possibly bumping them to the ground. "Then the kids do 'pyramiding' or 'towering.' They pile on each other. [Sometimes] they call it 'jailhouse' or 'jailbreak,' " because the child has to break out, she said.

This is really all about kids feeling alienated at school, parents who themselves were pussies and the notion that tag should not be played because the fat kid feels bad about himself when he can't catch anyone.
