Discuss

There is no way I could deal without taste and smell is connected to that so its in as well. I could read the text of ron and fez and I would "hear" their voices so I am good without hearing. Plus I could open an oil drilling company in mexico (Finally watched There Will be Blood last night).

If you're talking about a sense actually being useless, I'd have to go with taste. There seems to be no real benefit to it, other than making things tasty.

It protects you from poison/rancid food.
I guess in the 21st century it would be taste, but if this were pre-industrial revolution it would be hearing.

If you're tasting poison, isn't it already too late?

I can't vote....
I've thought about them all and I can maybe see taste as the front runner for most useless; but then I get to a certain thing and I lose the confidence to click the button.

This is a really hard question!
My first instinct is touch, even though my grandmother has neuropathy and has lost all feeling in her fingers and she couldn't live by herself anymore because of it. It interferes with her life more than I ever thought it could.
I might even be happier without sight... I need touch to play the piano, but I don't need sight, and this world is pretty considerate of the sightless... ever see instructions at a drive-up ATM written in Brail?

I have thought on this and debated it with friends and family over the years. For me it would be hearing. People talking too much annoys me.

I have no sense of smell and then I guess my taste is shot from there too. I get along perfectly well. Far better than a deaf mute would.

ya know, I just started taking sign lang classes, and my teacher,is deaf and spent the first few minutes of class teaseing us about being able to hear, he signed, "poor u, when it rains and there is thunder, u hear boom boom crash, me, nothing still sleeping"
so I think I could live with out my hearing
