Between Global terrorism and unchecked nuclear power to diminishing food resources and Global warming and about 30 other problems....I give the Human species 100 years tops.

Meh.....the way I eat, smoke and drink, I probably have 10 years left. I have no kids, so I can't be bothered with things like that.

I feel awful for the rest of you, though.

I know exactley how you feel...it's not my problem....

Eh, we have always had some bullshit to deal with. Since the beginning of time.

thepaulo

Well at least we don't have to deal with dinosaurs.

Well, that depends on who you ask.

This sounds like a terrible movie.

I was thinking just the opposite. This movie sounds really intriguing to me. When does it come out?

Well if you think that, kill yourself now and let your resources go to those that think we can last longer

I watched Journey to Planet Earth hosted by Matt Damon on PBS which talked about massive fishing trawlers that are basically fish factories at sea....one can process a million pounds of fish a day......they throw away 25% of dead, unmarketable fish.....the shark population is being aggressively hunted for their fins then thrown back in to bleed to death......water for farming robs streams that salmon spawn in and they die in mass from lack of oxygen.....
stories like this are multiplying in the modern age....

Are we still facing an imminent alien invasion? I didn't see anything new on Drudge today. I was kind of hoping they would swarm in and finish us off quickly rather than have the human species die out slowly from the coming environmental meltdown.

I'd love a good fucking alien invasion....

Will there be another race
To come along and take over for us?
Maybe martians could do
Better than we've done
We'll make great pets!

My friend says we're like the dinosaurs
Only we are doing ourselves in
Much faster than they
Ever did
We'll make great pets!

somebody needs to remake The Day the Earth Stood Still...
or that episode from the Twilight zone...To Serve Mankind.....
teach us Homo Saps a thing or two....

The Simpsons already did the "to serve" episode....in the original Treehouse of Horror episode in 1990. It was the middle segment.

If they EVER remake The Day the Earth Stood Still, I would cast David Strathairn as Klaatu.

(According to IMDB, they are filming a remake. With Keanu as Klaatu. I hate Keanu.)

We are all doomed as long as people think it's okay to reproduce at exponential rates. No amount of small fixes will save the planet from a population that doubles every few generations.

I am waiting for Ben Affleck's documentary before I make up my mind on the subject.
