Goth kids allways used to scare me... not to the point that if one of them would step up to me ai would run away but to the point of I dont know....just freakish. I mean I would think I would be more comfortable with em seeing as to how I use to be raver kid #1. I do admit it tho some of those goth girls are cute... specially... omg I saw this one band when I went to Toronto their name is Kittie...omg... i swear I think im in love with these girls... well there was 4 but the ones taht stayed are the best oens I thnk. I hope one day I actually get to meet em and don't make an ass of myself.

All the goth kids in my highschool were ragged on to no end. They were all the kids in the Strategy Club (a School Sponsored club for LARP and RPGS)
I used to be really weirded out by them and made fun of them with my friends for a while, but then one of them, a boy named Dan, was in my English and Latin class and I actually found out that with the exception of music he and I had a lot in common. We were both fairly smart, and had good vocabularies so we'd just rag on all the stupid kids the whole period long.
He was very knowledgeable on a lot of subjects and had really interesting takes on alot of the current events going on at the time. After the whole Columbine thing happened my senior year our school cracked down on alot of them and Dan got suspended for refusing to stop wearing his trench coat. Greenwich is so ridiculous.

I had a huge crush on a goth guy when I was in 9th grade. But he broke my little heart by going out with some older wiccan girl. oh well.

I'm nice to them, mainly because they're interesting people and have their own opinions and the balls to look diffrent from the rest of the people at my school. But it sucks because my close friends always make fun of them hardcore, banging them into lockers and all that. Last week my ex beat the shit out of that goth kid I used to like for no apparent reason, just because he was "one of the freaks".

I was so pissed off.

I love Goth women. I dated one in high school for a brief period of time (no surprise, I always wind up with the damaged chicks). There's something about them...not just the whole mystique they have going on, that whole "wild and forbidden fruit" vibe. It's even more basic than that for me. It's hard to describe. I even love the look, too. The pale white skin contrasted with the pitch black clothing and / or hair. NICE.

i don't know that i'd consider myself to be goth, but if you guys saw me out, you'd probably think that i was. i don't get why it would be scary at all, but i guess everyone has their things. you dress a little differently, slap on some dark makeup and a collar... no real difference. and this is a major generalization of course, but i've found goths (and "freaks" in general) to be on average more intelligent and open minded than a lot of others. and, of course, goth chicks are hot

Well...the skit "Goth Talk" on SNL always comes to mind when I see the "Goth" clique.

I really do not mean to laugh...I just do not get the whole I wanna be a vampire, or the Crow.

I loved comics as a kid...and yes when I was 4 I jumped down a flight of stairs trying to be Superman....but I never really had the inclination to dress up like the Punisher or Spiderman and walk around acting like I was waiting for the bat signal.


I think most goth kids just need a hug.

I was just teasin with the JNCO thing, that's a very cool brand. I remeber I got my 1st really sweet pair of them (wide-legged of course, I was 11 lol) the same day that I got my 1st skateboard. Yup, a very special time. :)

What I like about Goth kids is they write really good poetry, and they're very helpful with art and stuff like that, like my x-crush goth guy taught me how to use those old-style cameras in black + white.

What I don't like it that a lot of them cut themselves. Because maybe their parents got divorced or becuase they don't fit in, or just because maybe they think it feels good.

I went to see Manson in concert last year and I saw a whole bunch of gay 14 yr old Goth boys hugging and kissing. It was at that moment I felt I needed to stop my stupid Goth physique which thank God I only followed for a short while. I do agree some Goth chicks are hot....some. I never had a problem with goth kids when I was in school, even though I was a comic book geek. Okay so I still am.
I guess my point is, you can goof on a kid in black lipstick, but if you're wearing a Superman shirt, shut up. Although I do like my Superman shirt.

And in my opinion, I'm not crazy about Marilyn Manson's music, but he is one hell of a businessman/merchandiser.

People have always told me that I'm pretty "Goth" in my, hm, I guess, thinking or attitude. I was never into the "dress-up" thing, though. I do like wearing all black (and I like trenchcoats) but the whole fishnet shirt and plastic pants thing never did it for me, neither did tatoos or peircings, (jewlery of any kind just seemed too, "unnatural") I do have the hair, though... :-)
Musically I'm more into Type-O-Negative than bauhaus or SOM, hate Marylin...
Oh, and of course I agree with Figm3nt, Goth Chicks = hot!

that's not exactly where i would go looking for my goth crowd info... i mean, no matter what group you're talking about, it's going to be a lot easier to find a group of really insipid morons who are just way too into their thing than to find one with cool people who just happen to get along and congregate because of their similar tastes in whatever. it doesn't mean they don't exist. of course you can go ahead and do whatever you like, but i'd not make any kind of decisions based on what i saw at a marilyn manson concert. i've been to a some fun gothic/industrial clubs and the like where you can find some really interesting and intelligent people who just happen to be pretty damn goth.

That's why I don't hang out with just one group, and I don't make fun of other people based on that or put anybody down. Most of my close friends don't get along because they're not in the same cliques. Nobody labels me though, probably because I can't even label myself lol.

the problem with these labels is that they don't leave very much room for anything else. i mean, i understand why people need to group things in ways that make sense to them (hell, i do it all the time), but it leads to many unfortunate assumptions.
I find emo chicks much hotter and i'd start a thread about them but nobody would know what the hell i'm talking about.
see, i'm sort of like an emo in goth's clothing (which is why i felt the need to reply). i could be walking down the street with a collar and fishnet and vinyl on. in my walkman, i'll be listening to bright eyes, dashboard confessional, saetia, embrace, the promise ring, burning arilines, sunny day real estate or whoever, but people will make a lot of incorrect assumptions about me. then again, people can only see what you show them. it's only the unfair inferences that irk me

i think that you guys ay be confusing goth and metal.. kittie=metal... manson=metal... goth is more trancey.. like london after midnight... or cradle of filth.. there is a fine line.. but if you ever said.. "hey do you like kittie?" to a true goth.. youd probably get a bad reaction
