To clarify, as I understand it, Night of 100 podcasts will be Sunday again, except it's running from 9:00 pm until 3:00 am EST (in place of R&F replays). Lenay gets a one hour slot during the 2:00-5:00 pm EST Sunday replay.

I was 100% going to make this same post, I'm really happy she's getting a slot.

She didn't throw a fit when she wasn't intially including, she was just sad. Crazy Jen eat crap for trying to put Lenay in the same boat as spoiled brats loosing it in the mall because their parents wont buy them a blackberry. How much awesome stuff happened to you when you were a kid? I really cant think of anything that I got to do that was as thrilling as this, and I'm not going to hate on some little girl cus she got a better shake than me. Besides, most people that excel in life have done so because they were given extra opportunities like this when they were young, that doesnt mean what they turned out when they were young was great, but the opportunity has a huge impact. It's not like last week she just decided that she should get her show aired on XM202 because she's friends with Ron and Fez and they owe her a shot. If you've never done a show, live or pre-recorded, then you probably have no idea what it takes to put one together. She does a professional quality show every Saturday.

I have a daughter same age as Mikeys, and she loves hagging out with me, I'm sure its the same w/ them, and if she did do the show, who gives a shit, so maybe she does THINK she wants to do radio, but to her she DOES want to. So later in life she says that sucked or she goes on to be a huge radio star, no harm done. She just diggs what her dad likes, and hagging out with him, and seems to dig R&F, who dosen't! I think there are many of us that don't begrudge the kid having her own show - I have said myself that I think it's great Lenay has her own podcast.

However, Lenay's isn't XM202 material. It isn't what I (and others) want to listen to and it doesn't match the format of the channel.

Ron & Fez can do whatever they want and give time to whomever they want. It doesn't matter what I, or anybody else, says. There are lots of other channels to listen to.

EDIT: To be fair, I am probably somewhat upset because I hate favoritism. It pisses me off. When I think about the subject logically, who the F cares if the kid gets an hour. Of course the only reason it is happening is because Uncle Ron & Auntie Fez made it happen, but if I were one of the board's/shows elite maybe I would have a shot too.

I completely agree that Lenay dealt with the initial disappointment well. She really seemed like a nice kid. I, however, wouldn't let my 11 year old listen to XM202, let alone host an hour show on it. I wouldn't have minded if Ron had gone to XM management and used his influence to get her on XM Kids. My only point is, XM 202 is an adult channel and it isn't appropriate to have kids on it.

Mooch wasnt being mean, he was trying to save some of the angst he saw coming. I thought he was being very caring if fact. I also thought that Crazy Jen was being straight forward and honest. She actually made sense.(is that a first?)

i would bet most of the people saying she doesnt deserve a spot havent listened to her show, i listened to every one of the shows from the last night of podcasts and lenay's show is just as well put together as any of them, and better than several of them.

additionaly, where is it written that everything that airs on 202 MUST be adult oriented? 1/2 of the ron and fez show could air on any XM station. so the argument that it isnt appropriate for an 11 year old to have a show on 202 doesnt fly for me, they didnt have any problem having her on the actual R&F show and having people curse in front of her, and i think she proved that she can handle herself pretty well even when adults cross the line and act like children.

most of the subjects lenay talks about are things that are discussed on these forums, just from a kids perspective. and she wasnt going to be sitting in the same room as the other shows as they broadcasted and be exposed to their material.

i thought most of the harsh stuff that was directed at her was no big deal, i didnt think much of it was necessary but the only person that i thought really took it too far and deserved a good smack in the mouth was the caller that made fun of her speech impediment. that was a little much.

i dont know mike or lenay, but from the sound of her on the show she seems like she genuinely enjoys it, what evidence do people have that he is forcing her or subtly coercing her into thinking she wants to do this? why is it so impossible to think he might be sensitive to that very thing because it happened to him, and so he is actually extra careful about not forcing it on lenay. like i said, i have no clue, he could be the worst father in history, but what evidence do people have that lenay doesnt actually enjoy and ask to do her show?

the caller that criticized him for building her up to think she has talent and isnt just an average kid was priceless, i hope he never has children of his own. that is great advice for parents - make sure to tell your kids they are just average!

oh, and i think jay was reacting specifically to the caller that mentioned her speech impediment. there wasnt much else that was that bad that took place before he called in. i was surprised he didnt call back and was also surprised ron got so annoyed at him. i havent listened to today's show yet - did he call back in today?

It's their channel, if they want to put Lenay on it's their prerogative... Personally I share the opinion with others that it's an xl channel and should have xl programming. But if they want to put kids programming on that no one is going to listen to, hell, all the power to them.... Now if only they would do the same with "spammers"......*snort*
