I thought this was about the movie.
But you're both pretty young, do you two have the money to raise a kid these days?

I don't know your ages...But my oldest just walked in the door..I have not seen him for about 2 months..school....He is setting behind me playing his Martin....Kids will make you feel things that are even stronger than your wife........I hope she likes the idea..It should be almost 70% her idea for it will take most of her time.....If not wait like I did until I was 32.......Oh wait I thought you were ...you know...skippy:lol:....Kids rule..Juggy...Nite

It's impossible to say what age is right, because everyone is different. My first wife was 19 when we had our first child, and she probably should have waited. I'd normally say 20 is a little young, but you have to also weigh that with how long the two of you have been together, and how long she's in a responsible employment situation. It sounds like you're good on both of those.

Live life for a few more years. Go on exotic vacations and cruises. Go out every weekend to see bands. When you get closer to 30, check back in with me.
As I've already said, kids suck the time and money out of you. If you have done all that life has to offer, go for it. If not, wait a couple more years.
I sowed a bunch of wild oats before rearin' the young 'uns.

Kids!
I don't know what's wrong with these kids today!
Kids!
Who can understand anything they say?
Kids!
They a disobedient, disrespectful oafs!
Noisy, crazy, dirty, lazy, loafers!
While we're on the subject:
Kids!
You can talk and talk till your face is blue!
Kids!
But they still just do what they want to do!
Why can't they be like we were,
Perfect in every way?
What's the matter with kids today?
Kids!
I've tried to raise him the best I could
Kids! Kids!
Laughing, singing, dancing, grinning, morons!
And while we're on the subject!
Kids! They are just impossible to control!
Kids! With their awful clothes and their rock an' roll!
Why can't they dance like we did
What's wrong with Sammy Caine?
What's the matter with kids today!

I'm almost 40, and we are thinking about it. Right now I think its a little late.
I had a ton of crazy to get out of my system at mid 20's and I think that would be too early.. I think if I had to pick I'd say 33. That way, they will hopefully be out of college before you retire, and you would have had enough time to grow up a little before they drained the life out of you.

What do you mean? You won't be around to do it, or you will lose your ability to do it?

Relax Doug, you've got plenty of time. Spend some time with your chick for a couple of years before you think about bringing something into this world that will take up 110% of your life for the next 18 years.
I've got two boy (12 and 10 - forst one born when I was 33) and I love 'em to death but between work and their schedules I hardly have any free time.

If your ready to give anything that resembles an adult life. Ie.. traveling, movies, not getting woken up at 7:15 am on a saturday morning. then I'd say you might be ready. Anyone with kids will agree that once you have kids your life is no longer yours. Don't take me the wrong way, I wouldn't give up my son and my daughter (i'm due in 10 days), for anything in the world.

Why not just adopt one of the misfits that loiter around this messageboard?
