Is this a sudden up spike in violence or has it always been this bad and i never noticed?

Seriously, when I was in New Orleans last weekend, it seemed like the local news was nothing but murder stories. The week before I arrived there were something like 8 murders in 3 days, all within the same area. I never felt so safe coming back to New York.

The Cubs are on this great opening month record because of the regular human sacrifices.

Almost of the shootings were on the southside and a few out in the southwest, which is sadly not surprising at all. Those are the rough areas where the major gangs rule, and that's where shit tends to go down. I'd assume some kind of drug war/turf struggle blowing up with a few random of the usual robberies/etc. tossed in.

But yes, between the gang wars, wild cougars and earthquakes, it's been a little odd lately.
