You make it seem like electing Obama is akin to passing some sacred threshold where we've finally reached some moment of racial clarity in the country, and it doesn't matter if we elect a woman or a black man or a midget or what, it doesn't mean the end of the many issues of sexism and racism in the country. Elect who's the best candidate, don't make your presidential vote an extension of the "I've got a black friend" mentality. Not saying that Obama is not or is the best candidate, just saying.

You know, I came to like Obama after I researched his policies and saw what he had to say on a multitude of issues. His policies are admittedly not very different from Hillary's, but his approach seems to be far more genuine. McCain, who opposed almost all of Bush's policies, now supports and adopts them which frightens me. That, is a part of the reason why I'm voting Obama. The media will have anyone believe that blacks will vote for blacks, but the fact of the matter is that last year around this time, everyone black that I knew backed Hillary.

If they want to marginalize us, at least say we always vote Democrat. That's a fact.

My brother is an elder in a black church in Pasadena and he goes to lots of nationwide conferences with other black churches and the majority of pastors are loving, kind, warm people. I loved the movie "Idiocracy" too, but it's wrong about evolution. The whole "stupid people have stupid kids" thing is old school eugenics thought. That's why you send kids to school, after all. It might be that a "stupid" person has the genes to be smart, but got a shitty education and lived in a shitty situation growing up. Or it might be that someone has "stupid" genes, but through their situation, they did get a good education and their potential was maximized.

The "nature v. nuture" question is pretty much meaningless at this point. It's both. Your genes do not set your destiny, though they might help or hurt you, depending. But there are so many other factors.
