I remember seeing the Dylan 30th Anniversary concert at Madison Square Garden. The entire show was amazing, but my favorite was seeing the O'Jays play "Emotionally Yours" with Booker T.

There is an abundance of great covers on the I'm Not There soundtrack. Stephen Malkmus' Maggie's Farm and Jeff Tweedy's Simple Twist Of Fate are two of my favorites. Also, If Not For You way back on George Harrison's All Things Must Pass.

To paraphrase Dylan on Hendrix: "I write the songs and Jimi takes them and makes them his."

i was really disappointed with tweedy's cover, he sounded a little silly ... almost like jeff was trying to do a 'lay lady lay'-esque impression
the sonic youth cover kills

Joan Baez singing 'Forever Young'
I sang this as my encore for my Senior Voice Recital at university and dedicated it to my mom.

My Chemical Romance has a cover of "Desolation Row" that plays at the end of Watchmen. I have too much respect for the word "crap" to apply it to this shit.

Billy Joel did "The Times They Are a Changin" on Kohuept. The energy of that particular performance in front of Russians in 87 was perfect. Unfortunately, no youtube clip.

Ok, nevermind. I was listening to Television on the train after reading this and realized their cover is on the, obviously passed over, live album "The Blow Up" which was on my iPod.
