I have a washer and dryer that stack on top of each other. I emptied the dryer and then opened the washer to put the wet clothes into the dryer. In the process I forgot to watch for the open door and smashed the fuck out of my head on the way back up. I feel like a dick and have a bump on my head.

I always find it hysterical when I bump my head. I curse angrily then laugh at myself.

It's funny when people bump into things or fall. Even when it's yourself. I once ran full speed into a screen door. Not on purpose. Only my foot went through. It was awesome.

I'm almost always wearing my Yankees baseball cap, one time in a parking garage I jumped in the bed of my friends truck to put some things away....with the bill of the cap obstructing my view of all things above eye level I walked right into a metal pipe. She could not stop laughing for at least 5 minutes. When we finally were exiting the parking garage we pulled up to the booth to pay the fare, within the attendants booth we could see a bank of monitors displaying all of the security cameras. The attendant looks at me and said "Was that you that just walked into one of the pipes?"

That's awesome. Very few things funnier than people unexpectedly walking into stuff.

Humbling? I'll say life threatening.

I'll submit now, and wait for Bossanova's reply.

there was a family in the neighborhood that had maybe 10 kids and my brothers and i were friends with some of them. there was one who was afraid of my next oldest brother Billy for some reason. anyway this kid had a brand new crew cut and was walking backwards down the block because he was checking to see if my brother was gonna chase him.

the kid didn't realize it but he was backing up to a wooden telephone pole when suddenly my brother made like he was gonna chase him, the kid turns to start running and bangs his head off the telephone pole. madone what a sound it made...

a year or two later this kid was pushed into the hudson and drowned, "from rumor" by a gang of punky kids that lived a few blocks from us. this kid's older brother who my eldest brother hung out with 'for a short while' set an apt house on fire because he was fighting with someone who lived there and wound up killing 6 people

sorry for ramblin, one thing just seems to lead into another

How about taking a dump while getting head? That'd be pretty humbeling..

i continually whack my head getting in and out of cars. i dont like people looking at me when i get out of a john's car. nothing worse than that head bump where your teeth clash together and grind a bit.

By life threatening do you mean radio show derailing?

The worst kind of head bump is when you're wearing a ball cap with that damn button on top. The rivet drives right into your scalp. OUCH!!!

i'd say tripping over your own feet is up there on the list. the thought that you haven't mastered the skill of walking is pretty humbellingg.

This isn't painful, but it's embarrassing. I have a regular delivery customer who has wind chimes on their porch. It's at just the right hight so, that when I reach the top step of their porch, my head smashes into the chimes and makes a terrible racket. I forget about it every freaking time. Of course, they're always standing right there in front of me when I do it. Move that damn thing!

a close friend recently passed away so I helped his brother clean the house out. after removing the dining room table i proceeded to bang my head on the chandelier each time knocking a glass fixture to the floor and breaking it, 3 in total. the house was in terrible shape and my friend didn't care, he was going to sell it " as is "

How about pee splatter/drippage on the front of kahki pants? That's pretty humbling.

The best thing about smashing your skull into a stationary object is the anger you feel and direct toward said object. I've pummeled the cabinet and countertops that I've stood up into as if they attacked me.

a bump with flathead would be humbling.

My son forgot to unlock the handlebar on his motorcycle one evening and tried to ride away. That seemed to take the starch out of him. That and my hysterical laughter and pointing. (After I made sure he was o.k.)

i'd say passing out at a bar, getting carried out by people, put into a cab to penn station and sleeping there might be a tad more humbling.

+ waking up naked and using a "wet floor" sign to cover your junk as you move about teh station might be more humblin'

<----- So tall people should be more humble than anybody else?

I have a chandeleir in my dining room that was left by the house's former owners. It's cheap and tacky looking, and it hangs down to the point that if I walked into it straight in I would bump into it with my face. That doesn't happen, but if I have my back to it and back up slightly I hit it and it hurts so bad. I feel that same rage, Gvac... I want to turn around and just pull it from the ceiling when it happens.

Incidentally, I warn everybody about this thing when they're near it... "Watch out for that thing, you WILL hit it, just don't say I didn't warn you..." and then they hit it, and it's always hilarious...
