You say that, but yesterday at Iron Man people were cracking up at the trailer for that hair dressing terrorist movie. It's gonna be huge.

Sandler should have stopped after Water Boy, it was his Citizen Kane.

I have to agree with that. I still laugh whenever I see that movie.

Adam Sandler should stop trying to make serious movies and focus on entertaining me with his crazy antics and high pitched singing.

Stop trying to be "edgy." Only a few of us can fit out here on the edge. We also only sit on the edge of out seats, worship The Edge as the greatest guitarist of all time and watch The Edge over and over again.

So Matty's the gold standard for what should and should not be considered good, and if you disagree, you're just being edgy? I have to be honest, generally, I find your taste to be for shit.

ya know, i actually liked punch drunk love mostly, and i have cracked up many times during his films, but mostly they really feel self-indulgent and pretentious to me.

*oh im the poor fragile manchild that talks in the funny voice but listens to bruce*

his 9/11 film was the worst example of this imo (cant remember the name), i try not to pass judgement on him because i dont know him and his motivations personally, but as an actor/director i just thought that movie rang particularly hollow.

i will probably see his new iraqi superhero barber film, and i will probably laugh quite a few times, and i will surely leave feeling a little queasy. ;)

Don't get me wrong, I spat at my tv when I saw the trailer for this piece of shit. The key for me is if he wrote it or not. Sometimes guys just take the paycheck, but if he wrote this, he needs to stop it soon.

Reign over me would have been a great movie if it had a different script.

I don't get how people see "Punch Drunk Love" as such a "departure" or "breakthrough" for Sandler. Basically, his character was, let's see, a mama's boy with anger issues. Wow, he's never done that character before.

The best thing I can say about that movie is that after it, I think P.T. Anderson saw what he was doing wasn't working, so he made "There Will Be Blood."

Big Daddy was the end of him being funny but i still thought 50 first dates was endearing just because i like the relationship Sandler and Barrymore have on screen.

I fucking love the Wedding Singer so much.

Never seen him in a serious role.

It's not supposed to be a departure for him. It's Sandler's usual persona put into a completey different context.

"Saw what he was doing?" What has been doing besides making each of his films unique?

It was met with mostly silence in the theatre I was at. Maybe two laughs at the end of the trailer. The crowd was not a bunch of snobs either...it was just terrible unfunny. Kind of like Sandler saw Borat and wanted to make his own funny foreigner flick.

It's counterpart has got to be the AWFUL Mike Myers Love Guru movie that's coming out. It's hilarious that with some of the classic comedy films both have done, they release probably the worst flicks they've ever made.

Waterboy was basically "what if Cajun Man and Canteen Boy somehow had a horrible child?"

But without the molestation.

I'm waiting for "Adam Sandler Lists a Bunch of Jews in Song Form: The Movie."
