The Wall Street Journal did an article on Carolla and CBS' radio troubles replacing Howard Stern. Seems like the article mentions every morning DJ but O&A. ...are they just placeholders at this point?

Just because there's no mention of O&A doesn't mean they are disregarded, slighted, or disrespected. They don't and shouldn't be in every single morning show article.

I just read the article - oh, right, this is the one that everyone is mocking Wackbag for overreacting. Right, carry on.

The article says that Radio is a 21 billion dollar a year industry.
Who'd a thunk? That means they must pay the shitty DJs a lot more then we think they are.

just a thought: maybe they're not mentioned, because they're doing well replacing Hoo-Hoo at KRock. does anyone know what their numbers are?

No, they don't. In major markets, yes, but an overnight guy in Jersey is probably making 10-15 bucks an hour.

And that's why they were re-signed for a year.
They are hitting some decent numbers in demos. But it's not as great as back in the WNEW days, and one of those reasons is the timeslot, IMHO.

what if you strip out the 9-10 hour that factors into their ratings, does it make a difference?

I don't know. At this point, it doesn't matter. Things are unstable until the Sirius thing shakes out, IMHO.

Morning hosts Opie and Anthony of WXRK (92.3 FM), who just signed a new contract, took a big drop. WRXP (101.9 FM), which switched from smooth jazz to alternative rock, also declined.
No agenda at all. The station fell from 1.5 in Fall to 1.3 in Winter. O&A have said they are unhappy with their ratings and admitted they were re-signed because a new rating system (People Meters) will go into effect later in the year.
