Well, if Al just would've punched Joe out, it would've ended all this before it started. But he didn't.
And if Al is looking for votes of popularity among the station, he's got bad news coming.

here's what really happend. joe was jealous that that al invited girls along to the staff get-together. to compensate, joe ragged him the whole night in order to get rid of the girls and have al all to himself. it backfired and now...oh, and also,......al can't handle his drink, starts talking his rhetoric(who wants to hear that unless he's pissing himself), and pushes joe over the edge. al = radio kryptonite. (unless he's kissing guys).

The bottom line is Al is a horrible drunk and Joe is an instigator. Those two things do not mix well.
