Does anyone else watch this? I found it flipping through channels a couple of weeks ago and I'm hooked on it. They auction off mostly old muscle cars but a few other classic cars as well. I was surprised how cheap some of these cars went for, like I could actually afford to buy one! I always assumed classic cars would be way out of my price range.

Same here! Whenever I come across it or the other car auction show (the Barret-something one on Speed), I have to watch it. Last week one of them had a motorcycle auction that was amazing!

Love that car, a 1963 Cadillac right? The 64 had different tail lights. My uncle had a white one just like that when I was a kid. He died when he was 50 from a heart-attack, although I don't think the car was to blame.

Anyway, back to the topic. Having family members in the business, it's cheaper to buy a car that's already restored than to do it yourself. Most people actually lose money on these sales. I have a cousin who lives near Memphis who buys them from people who need the money or from their widows and sells them on the internet. People buy these cars just by seeing the pictures (which is nuts to me) and my he ships them (they pay the shipping too).

Yes, it looks like a lot of these sellers lose money. The cars are beautifully restored but then some sell for less than $10,000. They HAD to have spent more than that to fix these cars up!
