I like that at the very least you're entertained by it. That's exactly how I would be. I like to drive around after a big storm and look at the damage but I've never come across something like that wood through concrete. That's amazing.

I was on the NASCAR site most of Saturday night, a lot of people were leaving chat rooms and coming back later talking about the storms. This was all around the south right?

are weather patterns changing and will Ga become part of tornado alley? can't say I've heard of tornados in Ga before but there have been a couple in the past several months now, one even in the heart of Atlanta if I'm not mistaken

there has been more tornadoes in Georgia than I can remember....just 4 in the central part of GA in the past 2 years, but thats more than we've had in my 25 years of living.....

it is amazing to go see the damage. I feel so bad for the folks that are more involved than myself, but I'm the type that loves when a huge thunderstorm comes around and knocks the lights out for hours, then you get to light candles. Ahhhhh, thats so much fun.

I'm terrified of seeing something like that. I never gave tornadoes a second thought until I moved here, to Tornado Alley. I really want a storm cellar.

It is really crazy having one hit, then seeing the damage afterwards. Hurricanes here usually spark little tornadoes that love to tear shit up. In 83 when Alicia hit we had one rip half the roof of our house and my parents scooped us up and we ran into another room. It was some freaky scary shit.

That sounds so scary. Did you ever have nightmares from it? My dad lived in Houston for over 20 years and when they added onto their house they made one of the walk in closets reinforced with steel or metal or something. So the last big hurricane they stayed in there while it was bad instead of evacuating.

But I flew down in '83 to visit my dad and I was on the last plane to land before they shut the airport. My dad picked us up and drove us straight to Dallas to stay with a relative. The best part was stopping at 7-11 and letting us pick the food for the car. M&M's, Frosted Flakes and Coke. Best trip ever!

I do remember being scared shitless from the noise prior to it hitting, I remember the noise the back part of the roof made when tearing off, and I remember the door to my parent's room (where the roof was taken) sucking in before my step dad grabbed me and ran to the front of the house. I don't remember nightmares, but do recall fascination afterwards. Where we lived it was still rual and the tornado left the roof, our barn, and dead chickens scattered for a long distance. It damaged our neighbor's house too.
