I have the need to finish things for some reason. If I have shows on my DVR I must watch all of them until it is empty. If I have a drink It must be completely empty. Food goes without saying. When I'm out to dinner or at home no leftovers makes me feel good inside. Mentally when things are finished everything feels balanced. Thats why I haven't posted as often lately. Once I read one thread I feel like I have to read every single thread and post for things to be right. So I just stopped all together to escape.

Another fuckin' weirdo. I don't think RFnet enables the mentally unstable so much as it attracts them.

You're all wacky.

Oddly enough, I am the same way with the DVR. I do it by show. If I have 3 House, 2 Boston Legals and 4 No Reservations I will watch whichever show I have th most of until they are all gone, then continue down the line.

It drives me nuts when I find my fiance's half drunk drinks (?) around the apartment. I end up finishing them just to keep myself sane.

I think it's obvious that this stems from either your mother's or your father's insistence (or perhaps both) that you 'clean your plate' when you were a child.

as someone who is so easily distracted (or, lazy) i find myself hard pressed to finish anything. Mayhap you can come by and finish some things for me.....like the laundry, spring cleaning, walking the dog, etc........

Sounds like OCD. If it's really getting in the way of leading your life then I'd suggest medication and perhaps therapy.

If it's just annoying you might want to try to find books based on cognitive therapy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_therapy).

Good luck lleeder!
