Another "the chicken or the egg" type question - does the Ron and Fez show cause mental illness or does it attract the mentally unstable?

Look at how many people associated with the show are certified loons, and I'm not just talking about the staff. Friends and fans of the show are mostly wack jobs, as witnessed by today's horrifying display by Paul O.

What say you?

I'd say talk radio in general attracts the dregs of society.

I zone out during the commercials and i turn in to a big green monster and i eat little babies... What commercials am i missing anything important? I havent incorporated my business yet, hopefully i am not missing some kind of commercial about that. No mental illness here...

Ron actually spoke to this point a year or so ago.

They were talking about everybody related to the show that is 'mentally unstable' when Ron blurted out "I'm starting to think I am a carrier!"

One of the best lines ever.

And I think the show just attracts weirdos - we generally seek our own level, so a show full of weirdos and misfits seems "welcoming" to many of us.

the show attracts crazy like flies to a lamp.

i think the buddy's are so great, that anyone knows they can feel comfortable in their environment. everyone is accepted.

I was a little fucked up before I started listening, but I think that my condition has advanced drastically.

A couple of days ago I told my wife and my mother that my 6month old daughter looked delicious and would BBQ wonderfully.

They both looked at me with terror in their eyes.

As to GVAC's question, I've liked it from the dot com days so I vote it attracts the damaged.

radio causes mental illness, its the headphones shooting frequency at high levels thru the ear hole basically turning the skull into a microwave that simmers the grey matter leading to paranoia or confusing about ones self worth.... Ronnie seems to be immune, maybe its his early in life experimentations with pharmaceuticals that has slowed the progression of his eventual mental illness

They say things come in threes, so I'm wondering who'll complete the nut hut trifecta now that that Fez and Paul O have both landed there.

Will it be Earl, Dave, Pitzy, or Lilly?

Still trying to figure this one out...

You know my thoughts on the matter G. Let's just say CCC is right on the claim of "normal", but cutting, constant lying, and so much more is surely even off the grey area of the "normal" bell curve. Surely the show enables some behaviors that are off, and most of the time it's hilarious, but at others it's on the line of explotation if not over it. I realize normal people can be boring, but so is the constant beat of the I'm different drum. For me this includes those pop culture idiot savants who exude that too cool for the room vibe simply because their lives are totally engrossed in being different. Seriously, knowing the name of the keygrip from Smokey and the Bandit does absolutely nothing for me, let alone for the guy who spouts it off in conversation.

I was seeing a councillor or mental health nurse or something she never specified this morning.

She asked what I did in the evenings. So I told her "Ron and Fez, 5 to 8 (BST)"

She asked me to knock it on the head and do something more active and social instead.

Being mentally healthy sounds shite.

I began listening to R,F since last December as a new Xm subscriber. Coming to Xm for OandA I gave R,F a chance and really enjoyed listening to them until Fez started sucking all of the fun, humor, and energy out of the show. Today I finally couldn't take it any longer. I will give them one more shot tomorrow and if its the same shitty bit i'm gone. If anyone else feels the same way please join me, until Fez finally blows a dude or gets pounded or whatever it is that he needs to stop being such a crying little bitch. Red Dragons!
