Why do women LOVE shoes?

Can anybody explain to me exactly WHY women seem to looove shoes so much?

I know many women who have dozens of pairs. Celine Dion has THOUSANDS!

There are quite a few women that have several pairs that they've paid a lot of money for but, never even worn. It sometimes seems that the simple act of purchasing them makes them happier than actually wearing them.

It's interesting to me that there is no male equivalent to this. Sure, men "waste" money on other stuff that I'm sure most women would not but, nothing as seemingly unimportant as shoes. Even if a guy collects baseball cards or comic books, it's usually considered an investment. Shoes have NO resale value.


Can somebody please explain this phenomenon?!

I've wondered this too. I feel like such an outcast among fellow women because I hate shoes. I own 3 pairs, and one pair of sandals I've had for over 10 years. I hate shopping for them and will wear a pair into the ground before I buy new ones.

why do men love muscle cars? why do women love shoes? questions that we'll never know the answers to. me, i've got to be an unusual woman. I own maybe 5 pairs of shoes and that would be counting a pair of snow boots and slickers for the rain. Never saw the point in owning too many shoes.

One reason that women may buy a lot of shoes is that one's ass may grow and shrink, but your feet are always the same- the Canadian insect Celine Dion being an obvious exception to this...

I have a fair number of shoes, but 90% of the time I'm in Chuck Taylor lowtops.

I have shoes from about 5 years ago that i've never worn.

I only have like 3 pairs of sneakers but about 7 or 8 pairs of boots/heels and roughly 25 pairs of flip flops.

1 pair of Reebok
5 Pairs of flip flops
8 pairs of heel boots
4 pairs of flats
2 pair of Durangos
2 pairs of Timberlands
approx. 25 pairs of dress shoes.

It's pathetic.
