He's not bad - i just saw the turbo tax vid and his timing and delivery are great. You get the sense he'd be able to handle a hostile crowd.
Even in terms of the material, I've sat through much worse at clubs - I would actually enjoy retard fucking Dave's set. If it started going to hell for him he could always just take items from the audience and shove them in his ass: always entertaining.

Here's a more basic translation: I would enjoy the set.
"retard fucking Dave's set" is the subordinate clause here ... the only thing I'm doing is enjoying.... the set. and how we've arrived at "set" being a part of Dave's body that his wife would object to being fucked by anyone is beyond me. What is this Bob Dylan talk? How old am I man? I'm french toast old man that's how old I am... what are words man?
My dog just died of boredom.

Poor :drunk:Dave, waiting for Fez to die to get his spot...no clue about Robert Plant...Damaging:devil2: his ass for attention. When is hot coals walking in bare :devil2: feet PEACHY:lol: DONG ? I'm a huge Dave fan,and yet I'm wondering "HAS HE PEAKED? " " Is he looking:blink: a bit PEAK-ED :king:lately?" I think it's time to replace :flush:Dave with the Dino Baby....the Dino baby is so much cuter and endearing.I say,get PITSY's ugly retard mug off the front page and get a new set of :innocent: Julianna pics. She's adorable, unlike Dave who's past his primus :banning:in life-us.Start training Lenay for his YOB !!!! She's 11 and needs to WORK for a LIVING. Give her the YOB. :smoke: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a221/jlehane3/072004apollo11lgEyesCRop21.jpg Moon Muppets

I agree, when I saw the Turbo Tax video, I thought he looked great. Not stiff, monotone delivery that seems to have become more popular; leave that to Steven Wright. But that was not in front of a crowd. Nevertheless, I think if Dave put work into it he could have a chance as a standup. I also think, after listening to Louis CK, that if Dave tried maybe he could be a writer. Again, the effort is where he runs into trouble, but he is creative.
Just needs someone to rein him in sometimes.

I love ESD. He would be great at sketch comedy or stand up. I recently had a break up with my fiance and him and mr b are the only people that made me laugh through the whole thing.

Yeah, I think Dave would be good a stand up. I even think he should try to get into comedic acting or something. I know Ron told him hes to old to try anything with sketch comedy but I think he could pull it off.

You should do the standup - you're joking right?
Ron is a comedy genius, Fez is a shoot from the hip one-liner machine, and Dave is a stumbling, stuttering prick who mispronounces every other word and he only has third chair because Fez has had confidence issues. Don’t get me wrong Dave has his funny moments, but they’re only because of Ron pulling them out of him. When he shuts up Fez is better, because Fez uses Dave as a crutch to fill in when he is stressing. I think Ronnie is really glad Dave is there to work off of when Fez is tight, so he brings something to the show and I like the crazy shit he does, but standup? Come on get serious. Being a funny guy who will do anything to make people laugh and being a standup comedian are worlds apart.

I understand what you are saying. But no one is saying Dave is the next Carlin. Just that he has potential. The R&F show is 3 hours, a stand up routine can be 10 to 15 minutes. Also, sketch comedy shows or writing for a show is also much less time than the R&F show. I am not saying he is brilliant. But he is creative. How many characters has he come up with? And that is with 10 hour writing sessions everyday like a show might have him do.
He should try it.
Or are you from the Fez and Earl school of it is better to not try than to try and fail?

Let's not go crazy here and start grouping Fezzy with Earl. Fez is talent and Earl is just another one of the many EPs that Ronnie and Fezzy use as fodder for jokes and he will be gone soon enough. I like Dave's characters I would love to hear more ESD characters.

You misunderstood. I wasn't saying that Fez himself doesn't try, whether or not he does is a different conversation. But, when Ron asks the group if you would rather live a long boring life or burn out bright and fast, Fez and Earl pick the long boring safe life. That is what I meant by Fez and Earl's idea of not trying.
Fez is very funny, just not on his game. Earl has never been funny, or anything else of note.
Softball and photography are his two passions outside of work- he sucks at them both.
He sucks at his job.
He has no life, outside of Sunday with his parents and the church.
He ruins the R&F show.
Fire Earl.

I'd pay to see ESD do stand-up, but only if Ron is in the crowd heckling everything he said wrong. Would be funny.
