green line train accident in boston

damn, i just flipped on the TV to look for some celtics pregame and they are live from newton with a bad train accident, two green line trains collided (trolleys) one rear ended the other at what must have been almost full speed, the driver of the rear train is still trapped an hour and a half later and he must be very very injured...

my mother rides that line home at about 5:30 every day, just got her on the phone and she is fine, she thinks she was on the train in front of this one because she wasnt far from the stop it happened at and the radio on her train started going wild with activity.

so far it doesnt sound like there are that many serious injuries which is amazing when you see the condition of the trains.

one channel is reporting two people trapped, but everyone else is still saying just one person and that it is a female operator.

coming up on 2 hours trapped, seems like a long time to try to extricate one person but then again i dont know jack shit about rescue operations. the front of that train is an ugly scene so i would imagine they have to go very very slow.

hopefully she gets out alive, all that they have said is that she is "very seriously injured".

3 hours and they still dont have her out, only new thing i heard was that she was conscious at one point, thats not to say she has ever been unconcious, just that they guy didnt know her exact condition but knew that at first she was conscious. she may very well still be.

WTF is with all these Boston train problems anymore? Amtrak hit someone Monday, some dumb teenagers were getting tans laying on tracks and lost some limbs, the redline had a fire Tuesday and now this.

it was a freight train, they arent quiet. they said there was no sign of headphones or impairment on the girls part, so they just laid there and didnt realize a freight train was almost upon them until it was too late?
