This may not be the correct forum for this but here goes:

Is Earl fucking up the pad data for the entire show? I record about the last 2 hours of O and A and the entire Ron and Fez show on my Inno while I'm at work.

For the O and A show the artist is always "Opie and Anthony" but the song will not change.

On the Ron and Fez show the artist is almost never "Ron and Fez" but apparently the last commercial to play before they come on for the day or back from a break. For example today my recorded pad data while Ron and Fez talked about the election, vice presidential picks, etc...said:

1 800 XXX XXXX
Unknown Song

With a running time of 54 minutes.

Is this feature a POS on the Inno? If so why does it just happen on the Ron and Fez show and not O and A? Earl is in charge of pad data is he not? Does anyone else have the problem? It makes it impossible to delete the commericals by song or artist and its a pain in the ass.

this happens on my nexus unit too. pisses me off but at least most of the commercials can be deleted. but yeah, it sucks (or earl sucks)

earl is in charge of the pad data

according to him he changes it an average of "60 times per show"

If you're listening to a recorded show, the only way I've seen to have the PAD data be correct, is if you're using a MyFi or Airware. The other units fuck it all up when it comes to PAD data on "the Virus". It sucks.

Actually, the past couple of weeks the pad data has updated much more frequently, Earl must have passed the responsibility off to someone else.

yeah, i'd say 20-30 is more realistic. btw, is there any reason they can't have updated pad data for replays? is it really that much more work? like if you listen to a music station it doesn't say "block of music" for an hour at a time, so it's not an issue of the content not being live.

Am I the only one who gets like half a sentence for the Pad data lately? I'll get like "Moral Cono" or "Election Tal" and before you say it, yes my XM unit can display more than it is.

I don't think that's gonna fit in the pad data.

I know this is old, but I had the problem with pad data not updating with recorded shows for a while. I always used to record the show with the inno off. Now I record the show every day with the inno on, and the pad data updates regularly.

The reason the PAD data works on the older MyFi units is because they actually divvy up the segments from the PAD data itself.

The Inno units (and other radios of the post-myfi generation) actually use an ID tag that tells them how long the segment/song is supposed to be.

This works great for songs and for programming that is divvied into mandatory lengths of a given timeslot.

Live content like stuff that originates from 202, doesn't have a finite length at the time its being recorded since its live.. Because of this, the inno only records everything into one huge block. Commercials already have a known length, so they record properly and so is their pad data.

In theory, a replay COULD have the PAD data show up and be recorded properly on the Inno, but the staff would have to code in, how long each pad data verbiage is supposed to be displayed.

Its not Earl's fault. ...this time :P

Interesting. I'm going to give that a try with my Nexus tomorrow. If it fucks up and doesn't record the show though, I'm going to fart in your general direction.

It didn't mess up, but it didn't help with the PAD data. Oh, well.

Both shows used to mess up like this on me everyday when I had my Nexus. It would say the last commercials message and it would be an hour long. I accidentally erased it a couple of times when I would pre erase commercials so I could listen straight through at work that night. I dont know if it is pad data or just a bad relay from xm's commercial broadcast pad data if you understand what Im saying

On the NASCAR Channel I got with the "Sirius Package" on my 2 Innos, every now and then, mainly between commercial breaks the pad data says:

GLOBAL WARMING

Global Warming

Weird. Just saying.

My pad data does not change when I playback the recorded show. I just select "record channel", I don't program it to record. It stores in hour or so blocks usually labeled with the last commercial before the show came back on.
Are you saying that when you playback the recorded show the pad data changes the same as when you are listening to the live show?

I have this problem on my Inno also. I record the live show, but the PAD data on the recorded segment is DINOVITE or some garbage. I assume the problem is something in DC, like fixing their clocks.

Yes, as long as I charge it while it is on in a home cradle.

Have you ever updated the firmware?

Have you ever updated the firmware?

I have it in the cradle, recording the "song", so it doesn't record the subsequent commercials. It records the show until the next commercial, but it doesn't ever change the pad data during the recorded portions of the show when I play it back. And, most of these times, it records the PAD data of the previous commercial.

I have never updated firmware, though...
