This is my go-to game, especially as I like to listen to Ron and Fez, its a good game to play without having to listen to the sound.

Well, I just got sent back down to AAA. The season after I won the MVP. I was hitting .399 with 28 HRs and 65 RBIs. On July 9th. I was in the lead for the MVP again this season and about 200k votes ahead of anyone for the All-Star game.

This game is so close to the perfect baseball game, but there's some REALLY glaring things wrong with it. Like how my player just got sent down to AAA. Or how they give your player a day off like every three to four days. I haven't been able to play more than like 135 games in a season yet.

ive been playing 07 The Show for over a year now, when '09 comes out ill get that one cause i dont think '08 will have enough changes for me. anyway, i completely agree with you that there are some major problems with this game. After calling it a HOF career with my first character, i decided to create a closer and try and break the all time saves record. so i start in spring training and absolutely dominate as a 20 year old. i literally posted a 0.00 ERA with 15 k's and 9 saves. Nonetheless I started out in AAA. After dominating AAA for over a month I get sent DOWN to AA. I cant figure out how to crack the major league roster. This happened with my first character as well and I feel like I missed an entire year of mashing HRs and racking up hits due to the fact that they wouldnt give my guy a shot. its an odd game to figure out

I also had a 59 game hitting streak going when I got sent down, but I think I figured out its because I didn't fulfill enough of the goals or something. I never walk, so I always fail that one. I think I failed 3 of 5 goals this time.

I'm just annoyed that I lost out on the training points I get from making the MLB All-Star game, seeing that I got sent down a week before.

Try getting taken out of a game in the 9th inning with a shutout, no one on base and only 87 pitches thrown, then next start they leave you out for 130 pitches when you arent sharp.

Or about how computer players will try to steal 3rd with 2 outs. Or how I'll have a 3 homer game and then get benched the next day.

It really is amazing how they can make a game so good and then just shit all over the AI like that. I had a no hitter goin into the 9th one time. I gave up a single to the first hitter and boom, i was out already.

AND THE FUCKIN BULLPEN ALWAYS LETS YOUR GODDAMN RUNNERS IN

yea if you dont get goals in 08, you are goin down or getting benched. Its really stupid because who the fuck would get in trouble for not drawing walks when you are still hitting 567 and not striking out

I almost forgot about the other glaring problems with this game :

Out of every 5 hits :

1 goes up the middle where the pitcher "gives the ol' college try" or "blind arm swing"

1 is hit into a 3-6-1 Double play.

If that many hits went up the middle, more pitchers would be hit in the face. And I cannot even remember the last time I saw a 3-6-1 DP, let alone 3 in one game.

when you pitch, those liners go right through you. You dont even try to get it, they just go by as if you arent there

For some reason, the game doesn't react when two things hit each other. Balls go straight through players, players go straight through other players, and EVERYTHING goes straight through the Umps.

Also, I went from hitting #3 in the lineup to #9 because I was in a mini-slump. In the middle of a 68 game hitting streak.

I would expect these little things out of a PS2 game or RBI Baseball; not a Sony PS3 baseball game.

I haven't even mentioned the amazingly redundant announcers yet. At least a game finally made the crowd react, even though the ball still bounces through them.

And does it annoy you when you blast a major HR, but it hits a sign on the way out, so it only measures like 340 feet, instead of measuring what it should have been? This isn't just on MLB08, this happens on every MLB game. I wish they'd estimate the HRs for the full distance.

And from what I understand, it's miles and miles better than MLB2k8. I cannot even imagine how bad that one must be.

What makes MLB better is the gameplay. If you were a person who knew nothing of how things are supposed to happen situationally in baseball, someone like BDC for example, the game is perfect

Yea, balls are always going through the legs of infielders, easy slow grounders. Then the fly ball where the OF would track it all the way, then at the end just stop and let it drop. Its like BDC made the game for PSP.

And of course the taking u out B9 2 outs 87 pitch shutout.
