What's the best way to get there on Saturday afternoon?
Is a subway the best way or should we take a cab?

parking in harlem should be aplenty on a saturday. easiest way to get anywhere in the city is subway, tho.

Oh and god help you if you don't have reservations. I attempted going once on the fly and waited 2 1/2 hours. But the food was so dang good i didn't mind. I drove once, but the subway is very easy too.

had to wait just over an hour for 4 people this past friday night. got there around 8:45 or so. the wait wasn't terrible. there was seating. parking is all over the place up there cause it's near riverside drive. i have to say i was disappointed. i had never been there before & kept hearing how great it was. the ribs were so fatty i coudln't even eat them. i tried to take a bite or two since someone else was paying the bill & i felt bad, but it was a rough go. the iceberg wedge with their house dressing was fantastic though. but you really can't be a giant wedge of iceburg lettuce covered in strips of bacon & spicey pecans. the bbq wings were good too, but i was greatly disappointed in the ribs as well as the cornbread.

i didn't realize it was 131st and b'way. drive if the hhp is accessible to you. it's hardly driving thru manhattan. and ralph, i take the subway over 2 hours a day...i wish it was an adventure, but it's mostly just boring.

Is the wait super long even on a Saturday afternoon?

Well I made it there and back and the ribs were among the best I have ever had. The brisket was amazing in it's smoked flavor and the pulled pork was delicious.
I need to go back.
