Just listening in my car this morning to Rutger Hauer being peppered by Iris, from Bayridge Brooklyn, made me long for some new Iris bits. Did we ever find out why the bit stopped? Nothing made me laugh more. I have all the old Iris and Bad Caller bits on CD's and pop them in from time to time just appreciate the funny. The show is still hysterical and I love the Bahddys big time, but I still long for some IRSI! See yasssss.

I love Iris too but I think the show has moved on in a different direction than when there was Iris and Kenny Allen and the rest of the characters that would call in.

When was the last Iris call? The last one I remember was when the Roosevelt Island Tram got stuck and Iris called to check on Fed. Iris, put down the Pal Mal and pick up the phone

That Rutger Hauer break could be the greatest radio I've ever heard. And I'm so glad it got replayed this week. I had never heard the entire thing.

No personal attacks, Sheepy.

You should know that.

And I miss Iris tremendously. Her calls were some of the funniest things I've ever heard on radio.

Ditto for the Fezitorials.

I'd love to hear Ronnie and Iris really go at it. That would be radio gold.

It would also be cool if Fezzie could interact with the Nature Boy.

Also sadly missed - Andre the Giant, Staples (to an extent), production, Fez

I do still love the Ron and Public Assistance Show- Noon to 3 baby!!

Iris started in Florida, but I can't remember the city she'd call from. I used to have her calls on tape, but seemed to have misplaced them.

The way Ron's voice was this week, I don't think it'll happen any time soon.

I love Iris too, but don't see her returning...

The whole gimmick depended on getting shit guests to fuck with. Then run them thru the wringer of Iris, Jan, Andre, etc. Ramonnnne before there was a rammoonnnee.

But these days, Ronnie seems less interested in fucking with people for the sake of fucking with people.

And plus he's already carrying the show enough.

My throwback wish is to have fresh Ron and Fez babies. Like Ron and Fez Babies: The Next Generation. I thought it had a great effect back then with keeping a real pulse in the studio, and it had the same effect last thursday.

oh yeah like they haven't had bad guests that needed an iris call, like that guy with the steroid book didn't seriously need an iris call.

What a great bit I missed the first time around. I also miss Iris but I don't think Ron and Fez consider any guest to be shitty enough to break it out.

She probably doesn't know it, (and probably doesn't like it), but Iris has fans in Yemen, Jordan, Germany, Poland, Australia, Ireland, Sweden, England, Cambodia and Thailand. Consider the Iris spread.

I've come to the conclusion that you are the worst speller in message board history.

He's also the only one who does the interviews. Fez doesn't interview the guests at all, so Ron wouldn't be able to do Iris.

Since they're trying to book good guests it's probably not a good idea for them to have bad guests get attacked by characters. Plus it doesn't really make sense from a character standpoint to have Iris listen to satellite radio.

I love Iris.
Ron complains about Fez, Earl, and Dave not producing, all valid, but he doesn't put in the effort either. Sure, he is a comic genius, but you still have to do the work.
Fez isn't bringing his characters or bits to the show, but Ron could step up with his.
Earl sucks.

They alluded to that in a Iris call that came in to XM. Iris kept asking why she couldn't get their show anymore, and Fezzie tried to explain satellite radio to her. It was hilarious, but, yeah, it does make the setup a little less plausbile.

Hearing that for I think the 4th time I cracked up today!! I loved when Rutger said "I knew that was you."

I'm pretty sure the last Iris call (and the only one on XM) was about a year ago, when the tram to Retard Island stalled. Did she ever call into the FreeFM show?

There was a small golden age of Iris at WJFK back in early 2005 - for a long stretch there she was on almost weekly, and each time killed. It was a beautiful thing, and one of the highlights of that stint.

Mr. Hauer, in the future, will jet packs be available? I'm gonna hang up and listen for your answer.

Ron has basically been carrying the entire show. He's definitely putting in effort.

Exactly. Maybe if Mr. Bennington had a stronger team, he'd have the energy to make Iris calls. He's got to be absolutely exhausted.

why can't they have a rutger hauer reunion show???

i think that show was in the middle of the week they were doing two shows a day on WNEW. They were so tired and out of their minds.

Not to mention Fez also has to, you know.. talk, to either interact with Iris, or keep the bad guest going.

I think you're remembering it differently than it was. IIRC, short of Rutger, and maybe another guest, virtually all Iris appearances were clashes with Fez whether they had guests on that particular day or not.

Unless it's too grating on Ron's larynx (Can be for Ant sometimes), we NEED the return of IRIS. I always make it the first thing I mention whenever I meet Ron.

I think when Iris started on Hooters on the Radio she called from St Pete, she ripped me a good one as the dishwasher dude once and after that i was always afraid shed call in while i was on the phone. Some other great calls from the lead singer of a florida band called Stranger and a Tampa Bay Storm player named Rogie ohhh and this toddler that was a latch key kid:happy::smoke:
