Well, after 25 years of marriage (26 if you count dating) Ol' Tasteless Ginny is now a separated lass. I went to an attorney this morning for a free consultation on divorce and was quoted about 7 grand total. Per attorney--so the soon-to-be ex would have to cough up between 5 and 7 grand as well.

I think that cash is better suited in my checking account.

So--anyone else here do the divorce thing? How cheaply did you get it done? We both agree on everything and no one is planning on screwing over the other person, so it's at least an amicable thing.

That out of the way, who wants a fat middle aged girlfriend?

I'm going to move this to That's Life for serious replies.

PS: I'm sorry Ginny.

Hope every thing works out for you.My Friend Went To A Mediator, The Cost Was Half As Much As A Lawyer. And It Is Legally Binding. As Long As There Is Agreement About Alot Of THings, I Would Look Into That

If you both agree on the terms of the divorce, go to a book store , Barnes and Noble, ETC.
They sell a book that has all the paper work that you will need, fill out the papers, make copies and file for divorce. I did it , when I lived in Fla. Book cost maybe $15, $5 worth of copies and divorce casy $100, which the ex paid.

Even though you both agree now once you both get lawers it will get ugly fast.
Do the mediator thing if you both agree on the settlement.

Sorry to hear the news, Ginny, but I'm glad it's amicable.

I hope everything works out for the best, and I'm sure you'll land on your feet.

Who can resist Tasteless Ginny?

True.

...unless, of course, you're not into the BBW thing.

I maybe wrong about this, but you might check into a para-legal to do the paper work. that is as long as the divoice is not contested and your ex would settle things without a fight.
