Look at it this way, the Batman franchise is stronger than ever. And it wouldnt be that way if it wasn't for Batman & Robin being such a horrible failure.
Also, if you watch "Batman & Robin", George Clooney was not nearly the worst thing in that movie. The script and Joel Schumacher's direction was as horrible as can be. Arnold Schwarzenneger as Mr. Freeze, Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl, Chris O'donnell as Robin and even Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy was way worse than Clooney was. I think in a decent Batman movie, Clooney could've been a rather capable Bruce Wayne.
And Clooney has done some decent work in recent times.
