in the city and hoboken, always at the green. i hate when people pop out of parked cars, so i try not to do it. but I will cross when it is not my turn, but always at the cross walk

I grew up in a rural area so I had to get used to crossing rules as an adult. I didn't know you were supposed to cross at the green until I was in my early 20's. To answer the question I cross whenever I damn well please (I'm very impatient), as long as it's safe and not holding any cars up.

When I do cross at the green I like to jump early because all the mindless corporate bots behind me tend to follow the leader assuming it's ok to walk. I rush across safely but it's fun to look back at the fools who jumped out unknowingly and seeing them frogger back to their side.

Some cities are worse than others for j-walking. When I went to Boston I couldn't believe the difference. People just walked whenever wherever they wanted to. It was heaven.

In London, or any other place where they drive on the other side of the road, I only cross at the green and I'm still terrified when I do.

I'm usually with my kids so I always cross at designated crosswalks. This way they learn the safe way to cross the street.
