But they traded easy access to the stadium for that, so I guess it's a decent trade off.

I've come to appreciate how good some of the various seats are over the last few days. I had tickets to all three Phils/Red Sox games, with two games in the 300 level, and one in the 400 level.

Even there, those are great seats in comparison to some of the upper decks I've been in, in other stadiums.

I usually sit about 20 rows off the field in the 100 level, though...we've had a partial plan since the stadium opened.

PNC Park is a great experience. Even with all the amenities, it feels a lot like an old ball field. Great sight lines and seats all feel close. Very well done.

Baseball's still relatively affordable in most cities, with Fenway and Yankee Stadium probably being near the top in being expensive (although I was looking at tickets for the New Busch Stadium in St. Louis and those are pretty high dollar, too).

Basketball and Hockey prices are atrocious, though. And I don't know how it is in most cities, but unless you've been willed Eagles tickets in Philadelphia, forget about even getting in that stadium.

I kind of have it easy...if I go with some friends, everyone's paying their own way, or with a chick, I pay for two which isn't bad.

But I can respect how awful it has to be to take a family to games these days. Say you have a wife and two kids....an extra $60 in tickets for the two kids, plus you probably have to feed them at the ballpark (can't take 'em to the bar afterwards), and if you get one a souvenir, you have to get the other one.

It'll run you an extra $120 on top of what you'd pay for yourself and your wife. And that's Philly prices...it's probably much more in New York or Boston.
