So, I'm 32, never had a real job other than teaching high school, which I have come to realize is not for me. I'm looking for a career change and was looking for advice from the Ron and Fez crew. Any ideas?

We are going to need more background information if you expect a real answer.
But, for starters, how do you feel about gay porn?
Is that something you could see yourself doing?
If so, PM Hottub. He has all the connections.

Are you willing to shave your bag?

Seriously give us a little more background, interests, etc. We will try to help.

Details/Interests: I like talking to people, movies, music, sports, I think I would like anything where I interact with people. I've run a couple of marathons

I wouldn't consider gay porn, unless it was lesbian porn.

And I won't shave my bag completely. I think it looks better with a combover.

Why don't you start your own internet radio show? You could have your own forum on this very site in days

What class are you currently teaching, and what are your degree(s) in?

You should be a high school teacher.

Consider teaching special ed. Its a much more laid back setting, smaller classes, less pressure, and much more enjoyable. I am currently going back to school to get my master's in special ed 1-6. I hope to teach in a resource room.

This is just my 2 cents.

Try publishing. You have teaching experience which I know a lot of publishing houses (i.e., Scholastic) are looking for.

(Just so you know, I only suggested publishing b/c you might actually like it. Considering you were "on stage" every day, I'd say you could handle the pressure of publishing.)

All this time I've liked Tub because I'm slated to have sex with his chick... now I come to find out he's my ticket to gay porn?!!!
What a glorious day!

Special Ed, no thanks. I've seen firsthand, as well as throught friends what those folks have to put up with. For example, my friend described last night how all this kid in her class does is bring in cut-outs from magazines of women in bikinis, and how he has a constant boner in class.

The publishing company would be cool, but I don't know that there are any in Ohio.

I would have no idea how to start my own internet radio show, but my one of my buddies and I have talked about wanting a radio show.

The doing HS kids work sounds good, but I don't like the shit I was doing in teaching HS, much less doin the work in solitary.

But keep the ideas coming. I could use all the help I can get.

have you thought about working for a non-profit organization, you might enjoy promoting something that is doing good for people....althought Im against non-profit bc technically the owner could say their salary needs to be 6fig and it can slide....

Have you considered sales? You'd be interacting with people, plus I'm sure the skills you developed in getting students interested in the day's lesson would be beneficial in getting "buy-in" from customers. B2B of course, not retail.

Dont give up on teaching all the way. Perhaps it might be because you are in youngstown? Without giving away too much can you tell me what town you work inor is it a youngstown school?

Ha! I can tell you some stories a million times worse than that! I've seen two retarded adults fighting over who gets to eat their doody.

Its stressful, but you get really attached to them.
