who would you want to give your eulogy
You can have anyone put together something and read it to your friends and family
you have no choice in what they say of course (so ron might not be the best choice because if hes ticked at earl that day...)
but anyone to stand in there and send you off
who you gonna pick?

I would fuckin' looove to have Ron Bennington do my fuckin' eulogy.
I could just hear him now. He would turn things around and put it in his perspective.
The 5 people who attend my service will be blown away.

I second Morgan Freeman - he did real good as president in Deep Imact.
BTW... A friend of mine died from injuries when he crashed his car and they had no eulogy but just played a few songs - the last song was The Joker by Steve Miller band. His mom said he told her what he wanted a day before he died. Funny though - I heard he was in a coma.
WHat song(s) whould you have played?

I've already told my much younger siblings that they can play whatever they want but...
They have to play "Spirit In the Sky"-Norman Greenbaum, corny I know, but what the fuck...And...
They have to play "Free Bird"-Lynyrd Skynyrd, I made this choice at about age 10..How morbid? And...
They have to play "Amazin Grace" on the Pipes and Drums..
After that they can play fuckin Wierd Al Yankovich for all I care..

I'm gonna hold a lighter over my head and start yelling FREEBIRD!
My brother-in-law died in a car accident this Memorial Day and his stupid girlfriend of like 5 months kept trying to make decisions for his funeral - one of the things she suggested was that Free Bird be played. The rest of the family vetoed it, but the whole thing had me thinking about funeral planning and how maybe it would be good to make some decisions now. His brother was only 24, so it's not like he probably ever gave it any thought, and it really sucked for the family to have to make all these awful decisions while trying to keep in mind what he would have wanted.
I haven't decided for sure, but I had in mind that I'd like a Warren Zevon song. I had a hard time deciding whether I wanted to go with a nice song or a funny song. I think the most apropos one would be "Keep Me In Your Heart", but if I died from a terminal illness I think "My Shit's Fucked Up" would be humorous because most people at a funeral would not expect something like that. Or, if I died because I ignored the fire drills at work one too many times, "I Was In The House When The House Burned Down." Very tasteful.

I would like Jeff Buckleys version of satisfied mind played and I want to be cremated asap and put somewhere my kids can come be "with" me. Preferably up in the lake we go to in NH.
I like the thought of having my ashes somewhere you need to be on a boat to "visit".
