Damn that sounds really good. I'm probably headed to the homebrew supply tomorrow to pick up some grain and hops to cook up another batch of East Side Daves Irish Red (Steam). I want to bring a few to the studio when they're ready.

Jimmy's was great. He goes into his addiction and youth a lot, and with Ronnie doing the interview it's great listening.

Almost 2 years now. I've been doing partial mash, since I don't have the room for full mash equipment until I get a house.

maybe about 2 years. I don't do anything too complicated right now, I buy the premade kits that contain malt extracts, grains, hops, and the yeast already selected and measured. My best results so far have been and alt and a dopplebock.

ANC you might be in for some sticker shock when you go. Everything seemed to be 25 or 30 percent higher in the store. Gas prices, i guess.

Wow I didn't realize they jacked the prices that high. I know hops more or less doubed in price because of the shortage (went from $1.25 to $2.50 an ounce), but I wonder how much more they went up because of gas prices. :thumbdown:

I usually just buy seperate ingredients. Haven't bought a kit yet. (EDIT except for when I started out with Mr. Beer)

If you're serious about brewing, I have pictures of what a full homebrewing operation looks like;

You need carboys, turkey fryers, few buckets, stainless steel pots, scales, thermometers, ingredinets, and a recipie. Sanitation is key. Mr Beer kits usually taste like shit because of the shitty malt extract they use.

By the way, at 1 pm, Tony Kornheiser's last show before he goes on hiatus until January will air, on channel 144. The radio show is the best thing he does: he's kind of wasted on MNF.

I had good taste out of them, you definitely get a better taste when you move on from it. But I think it's a good start to learn.

I do agree with that. My friends and I recently graduated from extract to all-malt brewing. The taste difference is amazing.

QFT, for me the transition from all extract to Partial Mash was very noticeable difference.

Even if you are not a big reader you fly through the book. Definetly worth picking up.
