I don't think he ever said he wanted the whole thing go away. He was pissed at the Post and Chaunce Hayden for just printing rumors with nothing to back it up and then taking no accountability for it.
The people involved with writing this story knew the source was someone who carried a grudge.

First, Good for Opie and the whole lawsuit thing.

Second, I don't think the boys realize if they lose XM they lose there whole radio careers. The CBS show is a lot better today then it was when they started but the ratings aren't what they were when they were PM's on NEW. (Also I'm sick of hearing them bitch about how WE'RE all nuts for thinking the NEW show was better.........yeah us and the ratings overall right Op?)

I say this because CBS will eventually grow tired of paying them for a show that doesn't deliver. Then who would pick them up? The merger locks up Sat radio, and they would have failed on FM.

Maybe if they hadn't treated the XM show like it didn't matter for the last 2 years they would have cared more about the Opie and Anthony show. After reading Opies comments I would have loved to ask "Do YOU care about the Opie and Anthony Show? Cause it sure as hell seems like your partner don't." I mean they have been setting it up for themelves for a year now: Kissing Howards Ass & The Dice abortion. They were begging Howard to allow them to stay, but I guess it isn't enough.

Finally, Hows Ron and Fez's future with XM? I would guess a lot more solid then O&A's now.

Ron and Fez are not dependant on Opie and Anthony.

Ron has another highly regarded show he hosts for the company, and the Ron and Fez show are more marketable overall then the bitter/rich Opie and Anthony Show.

Its a kick in the teeth to even suggest R&F wouldn't survive a lot longer then O&A. R&F's return to CBS was smoother/better then O&A's. They were about to announce a great ratings book for the R&F show, which O&A still haven't announced.

I was and am a huge fan of both shows. And I've listened to just about every shitty talk show to roll throgu NYC over the years and Ron and Fez are an A1 show. They have been a success everywhere they go and it would be nothing short of a waste of talent to let them go during this merger.

I said it and I ment it, O&A are not the show they were and never will be the show they were until they get rid of the yes men and start LISTENING TO WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IS SAYING TO THEM!!
