I'm surprised this thread wasnt started yet...but ok eh....

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!

It's a commemoration of the day in 1867 that the first colonies of British North America entered Confederation as the Dominion of Canada.

Hey Canadian's, I'm guessing it's kinda like Independence Day in the U.S.,
but what are you doing to celebrate? Parades? Fireworks? Hockey? Lumberjack contests?

I celebrated by staying in my pj's all day and drinking Caesars...yum.
I worked my ass off building a new set of back steps the last 2 days so today was all about the laziness..err lounging.

That was very nice of you to think of us Chris.

Today has been my worst canada day yet. I just cracked open my first beer now. Up until recent years it was by far my favorite holiday. Start at noon, take the free bus downtown, and then it was a fun 10 hour game of cat and mouse with the RCMP. If you made it to 10:00 PM fireworks without getting your booze dumped you were a stealthy drunk. I'd go with a 24 in a insulated backpack with ice or a variety of coke mixes (one time I stashed my bag outside cuz I had a couple of beers left and when I came back to get it, the beers were gone and someone puked in it.) great times. After that go to a bar with 20$+ cover charges to continue till 3. there's between 500,000 - 1million people on parliament hill every year so mathematically speaking theres millions of babes who end up spilling into the bar.

I've never spent July 1st anywhere else but ottawa but I don't think it's such a big deal elsewhere. I'd imagine DC has the same typa deal on the 4th.
