I missed quite a bit of today's O&A (I catch alot of it on replay), why did O&A say they were working for free for XM right now?

XM hasn't paid them for a couple of months.

They said they hadn't gotten paid from XM for the last two months and were still waiting to hear whether the next year of their XM contract was going to be picked up.

A little worrisome.

Well, it could be related to this:

It looks like they're going to cut programming costs across the board. That also means Hoo Hoo shouldn't expect another half billion dollar contract.

Here's the thing, though: if they cut out original programming, and it becomes more about music, why not just listen to internet radio?

Or your iPod.

Or your iPod.

Well, it's just my thought that with G3-enabled cell phones, including the new iPhone, hitting the market, the big barrier to listening to internet radio (i.e. the fact you have to be at a computer) is going away. If XM/Sirius makes the programming less distinctive by getting rid of exclusive content, how does having it become better than just listening to streaming music from somewhere?

Leo Laporte mentioned months ago on TWiT that he met with radio people and they fear the day that you can get internet in your car because they know that'll be the end of fm radio.

Well, I think that they are building a good relationship with I-Tunes. Would be awesome if they got canned by XM if they moved over to help launch a massive I-Tunes explicit language talk channel. I go where R&F goes, but I wouldn't mind switching to I-Tunes Radio.

People who dont use tech are generally older people set in their ways. Out of all our peers how many of us know people that actually listen to FM and enjoy it knowing full well they have other options?

even before I had XM I was using my MP3 player in the car - why listen to commercials and the same 15 somgs over & over when I don't have to?
