City hospital officials agreed in court Tuesday to implement reforms at a psychiatric ward where surveillance footage showed a woman falling from her chair, writhing on the floor and dying as workers failed to help for more than an hour.

How can they say "for more than an hour" when it clearly shows '45 minutes later" on the video?

I'm not saying it's not awful... it's just silly for a reporter to make it sound even worse, and then show proof youre wrong.

The whole story is full of shit. The reporter keeps saying "Emergency Room" when it isn't. It's a waiting room for the mental ward.

Even so, the video is disturbing. Even if she was only there 10 minutes. Terrible.

Agreed. That monitor is there for a reason; to be monitored.
Someone's gotta be held accountable, even if she died immediately.
45 minutes is way too long to notice something's wrong with a patient.

Well the people watching her collapse and die as they sat there are shitheads too. How hard would it have been for one of them to call for help.

Theyre crazy people; all drugged up to not react.
You wouldve gotten the same reaction at a Bar9 event.

The report I saw called it the emergency ward of a mental hospital. Not sure what that means.

They don't want her to cut in line.

She died while waiting for Earl to pickup:

"Pease Hold"

how common is it for mental patients to flop around on the floor?

Good point.
Maybe that woman had a history of "floor flopping" and thats why the long delay to respond.
The staff saw her fall and said "oh, there goes 'Floppin Flo' again".
She kind of brought this on herself with all the 'fake floor floppin'.

I like the woman who was sitting there the whole time ignoring the woman on the floor, and how she became so animated once the crash cart came out. I wonder what she was so frantic about all of a sudden.

The report I saw called it the emergency ward of a mental hospital. Not sure what that means.

It was the waiting room for the psychiatric unit at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn. She had been dropped off early the day before, and was waiting for a bed. The report said she had been waiting 24 hours, but there are other holes in the story, so take that for what it's worth.
