I knew people who would never buy AGFA film, because they supposedly made the gas that was used to kill Jews. I always thought that was silly, though. I think pretty much all of the German companies that did stuff like that were forced to have new ownership after the war, so it's punishing the wrong people.

after considering walmart, nike and starbucks (all personal faves of mine) i'll go with nestlé as most evil corporation. there's been a boycott (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nestl%C3%A9_boycott) of nestle going since 1977 for basically killing third world babies. they continually violate the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Code_of_Marketing_of_Breast-milk_Substitutes), basically they will give away free samples, then the breast milk dries up, then the poor and uneducated mothers don't have money to buy formula, then the babies die of malnourishment. it's the same business model used by crack dealers. they also will give away/sell formula with instructions only in english in countries where they do not speak any english. i remember they were covered in a business ethics course i took almost 20 years ago and almost nothing has changed to this day.

Roche Holdings - Price fixers and flu vaccine monopolizers
And I just looked up one of my funds and I have News Corp. I'm becoming rich on the backs of poor people everywhere

i wish i could accept your thanks, but i didn't even see that anyone had mentioned them when i skimmed the thread. as i mentioned it was covered in school like 20 years ago and has very recently come to my wife's attention. they're such a large conglomerate that it's difficult to avoid them unless you really try. i believe they own general mills for instance.

Man, people have no sense of history anymore.
The first Murder Inc. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder,_Inc.):
Murder, Inc., Murder Incorporated or Brownsville Boys was the name given by the press for an organized crime group in the 1920s to 1940s that carried out hundreds of murders on behalf of the mob.

Tyco is no prize winner. I proofread their annual report back in December and they devoted ONE paragraph of a 40-plus page report to that little "debacle" when the CEO dipped his hand in the till.
They basically said that they created a TYCO BOOK OF ETHICS that is REQUIRED reading for all employees.
Gee, that would put me at ease. [/sarcasm]

Theyve taken a once great company (Giant of Landover) that people really cared about and was a local institution and completely flushed it down the toilet...its just awful, and its a sad thing to see
