So we live in Seattle. And we love to travel to faraway places. Like - our favorites have been Beijing, Prague, Singapore, Zijuatanejo (sp?)

Anyway - so I'm going to take her away on vacation and I can fly for free to the following places - I was leaning towards aruba... but I really know very little about all these other places. Does anyone have any strong opinions???? THANKS!

I know she's been to vegas before- so maybe that's something she doesn't want to do

* Aruba (AUA)
* Bermuda (Hamilton), BM (BDA)
* Cancun, Mexico (CUN)
* Ft Lauderdale, FL (FLL)
* Ft Myers, FL (RSW)
* Hyannis, MA (HYA)
* Jacksonville, FL (JAX)
* Las Vegas, NV (LAS)
* Long Beach, CA (LGB)
* Martha’s Vineyard, MA (MVY)
* Nantucket, MA (ACK)
* Nassau, BS (NAS)
* Orlando, FL (MCO)
* Pittsburgh, PA (PIT)
* San Juan, PR (SJU)
* Santiago, DR (STI)
* Santo Domingo, DR (SDQ)
* Sarasota Bradenton, FL (SRQ)
* St. Maarten, AN (SXM)
* Tampa, FL (TPA)
* West Palm Beach, FL (PBI)

Go to Aruba, and be on the look out for a skeleton with blond hair.

I know its not on your list but its close to your side of the country try Jackson Hole WY. Unless she hates nature stuff (even though there is a ton more to do there than that) if she does just think of me as an asshole and forget we ever posted in the same thread.

Jackson hole is absolutely fantastic - but we're around natural stuff all the time being in Seattle... granted there's probably less rain in Jackson Hole... We're thinking more on the tropical / history side though

But thanks for the suggestion

For a summer trip, I would say Nantucket. Its not too hot like most of those places, and its really fuckin nice. Also, there is this guy from there who does a pretty neat trick, you might wanna check that out.

i live in fort lauderdale and im telling you unless youre comming down here for spring break (and youre not), theres much better places on that list to visit.

im a gambling fiend so i love Vegas and id go there once a year if i could afford it. ive never been to Nantucket but ive never heard a person say a bad thing about the place, id def look into going there. also, Atlantis in the Bahamas is great. those are my top 3 (in no specific order).

out of the three finalists i vote for either Aruba or the Bahamas.

It will probably be a bit warmer in Aruba, but expect showers from time to time. Usually just once daily and they rarely last for very long.

Both Bahamas and Aruba are in off-season at that point i think, so you will have less crowds, depending on where you are. And both have impeccable beaches and water... and great service/local fare so you are not tied into one tiny area like you tend to be as a tourist in Puerto Rico.

good luck!
i am jealous!

go to san juan & stay at the water club, which is a boutique hotel. you can get a pretty sweet deal for it usually on travelocity. i stayed there for a price well under what the hotel says. it's on a really empty beach. it's public, but no one is ever ever on it. it's also right down the road from one of the bigger hotel casinos, but distant enough where it's really quiet.

I vote for Martha's Vineyard, it's one of my favorite places. Got married there and have friends there. I wouldn't go in the summertime though, too crazy. In the fall however is a totally different story...

Fly for free? Sweet. Out of those places I've been to Aruba, San Juan, Orlando, St. Maarten and Orlando not to mention Vegas. I loved all of those places for different reasons excpet for San Juan.

Aruba is beautiful, has casinos and has great shopping. I saved $1,000 on a watch over what I would have paid in the states. Stay away from that Van Der Sloot kid though.

St. maarten is beautiful as well and may be a little more laid back. Like Aruba it is goverened by the Dutch so the laws in regards to banned substances aren't quite as stringent as they are here or other islands. The prices aren't bad there either.

San Juan is nice but rather expensive once you get there. If you're not staying in an all inclusive resort don't forget your credit card. It's nice but I'd much prefer St. Maarten or Aruba.

Orlando is a blast. If its just you and the ol lady I'd stay at Universal Studios. It seems to be a more adult themed park and includes Islands of Adventure in your purchase price. Good golf courses, good eats and the flights won't be as long as some of the other spots you've mentioned. If you go to Orlando, stay in a hotel at one of the parks. This will allow to walk right the fuck in front of the hundreds of people waiting for their turn on the Incredible Hulk coaster or whatever it is you're looking for. The speed pass rules but is only available to those who are staying on grounds. Orlando is also only a couple hours away by car from Tampa/Cleatwater. If you have a car you could always zip over to the coast; it's highway all the way if I'm not mistaken.

Nassau in the Bahamas is cool too but the resorts are really the only thing going for it if I remember correctly. If you've got some coin you could stay at Atlantis; it's AWESOME.

Good luck with your decision making and have fun!
