I swear to god, I thought this had to be fake. BUT IT REALLY HAPPENED.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/2277298/President-George-Bush-'Goodbye-from-the-world's-biggest-polluter'.html
The American leader, who has been condemned throughout his presidency for failing to tackle climate change, ended a private meeting with the words: "Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter."
THE WORST PART:
He then punched the air while grinning widely, as the rest of those present including Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy looked on in shock.

This doesn't surprise at all.
You just wait... in the years after he leaves office (it's starting to happen already), there will be an avalanche of douche-chill moments from staffers that will be revealed.
The man thought Sweden was a neutral country. When corrected it was Switzerland, he still said, No, it's Sweden.
His aloofness will be legendary. We'll wonder how we barely survived the beginning of the new century at all.

I like this part the best...
"Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian Prime Minister, was described in the White House press pack given to journalists as one of the "most controversial leaders in the history of a country known for government corruption and vice".
The White House apologised for what it called "sloppy work" and said an official had simply lifted the characterisation from the internet without reading it."
Such an illustration of how the Bush Whitehouse is like "the office." They brazenly offend people and then apologize. But then the apology makes them look worse than the original insult. And then they still dont even give a shit.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that he just said "fuck it, I wanna take my last year off. SENIOR YEAR, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!" Now Will Ferrell is just actually playing President Bush and appearing for him.
Don't miss this awesome part of the article:
Mr Bush also faced criticism at the summit after Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian Prime Minister, was described in the White House press pack given to journalists as one of the "most controversial leaders in the history of a country known for government corruption and vice".
The White House apologised for what it called "sloppy work" and saidan official had simply lifted the characterisation from the internet without reading it.
The Bush White House relies on Wikipedia for it's briefings.
This nightmare can't end soon enough.

Normally I would never say, 'Great job, Dubya,' but I have to here. Does signing the Kyoto Protocol really address climate change? Does being bilked out of millions/billions of dollars really address climate change?
Its a joke and so is the notion that we are in the midst of an Earth ending climate change.
Bush sickens me on many levels and I am ready for him to go, but when it comes to the G8 summit I've always wanted him or someone to just say. 'FUCK YOU' and that's what he did.
Great job, Dubya!

You're going to use this line every chance you get, aren't you?
And just for the sake of the argument, China pollutes way more than we do. But that's just to point out that the Prez was wrong again.

Yeah, instead of trying to address the issues it's much better just to tell everyone to F-off while te U.S. produces over 35% of the world's greenhouse emissions.
You are a perfect example of the ethnocentric American.

Its not an uncommon way to win arguements you come off as the aggressor and you automatically put that person on the defensive and its much easier to win an argument from then on

at its height the last time countries were measured the US was putting out 22% of the worlds CO2 gas followed by china, although it is widely believed that China has been the leader since 2006

Also, the argument: "hey, we are as concerned as the environment as China and India are!" is not a very good one.

Kyoto is an emissions trading system and does nothing but maintain nearly the same levels of worldwide pollution that we had when it was written. Big countries like the U.S. are expected to lower our emissions while countries just entering their industrial ages are either exempt from the caps or will reach them soon enough. These smaller countries will fill the gaps between what we were producing and whatever we can get it lowered to. It's the carbon credit scam on a worldwide level. Redistributing pollution does not remove it. It just spreads it out. We can lower our emissions without signing an agreement that licenses smaller countries to pollute.
And of course China and India signed it. They're exempt from having to lower their pollution.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyoto_Protocol#Common_but_differentiated_responsib ility
China, India, and other developing countries were not included in any numerical limitation of the Kyoto Protocol because they were not the main contributors to the greenhouse gas emissions during the pre-treaty industrialization period.

Are we not a fucking technological marvel are we innovative as people isn't in our/every ones best interests to lower greenhouse emissions?
Wouldn't this innovation create technologies and methods that we could export and sell to other nations?
Will we do it? No way
We are lazy and only focused on the short term buck right?
And besides China and India Don't have to boo hoo......
Its too hard it will cost to much money it will effect the all mighty CONSUMER boo hoo

First you are correct TeeBone. I mistakenly said that the U.S. is responsible for 35% of the world's greenhouse gases when it should be 22%. Though for a country that comprises only 4% of the world's population, to emit almost one-quarter of the greenhouse gases is a bit much.
