As for the League I love this show. The first season was funny but the 2nd season has been excellent. Does the show completely follow true to life rules of what a real fantasy league does is? I loved the little touches on this show as much as any of the big gags: the fact that "We Built this City" (possibly the shittiest song ever written) is playing softly in the background at the beginning, Dennis and Dee's creepy romance-cover self-portrait for their team, and Charlie nonchalantly saying "Yeah, dude, she totally did" after Mac reports that she attempted suicide in the wake of one of the Chardee MacDennis games.

Also, I love how this show sets up a joke, and you know it's coming, but it's still funny as hell. Nailing the board to the bar is obviously setting up Mac trying to throw it -- and, in fact, he says that at some point he will -- but when he's trying his best to throw the board anyway later, it's still funny as hell.

I'm the exact opposite....I think this is one of the best seasons aside from the Shadynastys episode. Its much more dark than it has been and I'm really enjoying it. I'm a little bummed there aren't more Fat Mac jokes, but overall I think its been really hilarious this season.

I love the little things like that. Like the way Mac lied about the card and then had to eat it ( I actually missed him eating it the 1st time I watched it ). My wife just doesn't get the show so I tell her it's over her head.

I think what really happened was he got fat while his wife was pregnant and used the show as an excuse. He said he gained weight for this season yet its barely been discussed?!

Pretty meh episode, fairly weak. They really should have set up what they were doing in that house rather than just starting with them in there. For the gang's craziness to work, you at least have to know why they're doing what they're doing, what the aim is. They didn't do that nearly well enough this time.

I particuarly loved Dee's discussion of "otters", and Mac calmly saying, after Charlie pulls his "WILDCARD , BITCHES" routine again, "Yeah, I knew he was gonna do that, I fixed the brakes."

I thought last week's episode was strong too. The image of cute lil' Dee and Dennis giving the "Seig Heil" salute is such classic "Sunny", that "Is it OK to laugh at this?" cringe they do so well.

Something else that struck me: I know we've got 8 episodes to go this season, and at least one more season after this one, but that episode would have been the perfect series finale for this show.

This week's episode was quite possibly the darkest episode yet, though it was really funny. They're really starting to delve into just how damaged these people are. Of course, that's always been a theme on this show, but they're really hitting it hard this year.

They're particularly hitting the notion that Mac is actually gay. There was him trying to kiss Dennis in the episode where they're trash men, there was the video that made it look like he was getting banged by the rich asshole last week, and there's him giving the pen a blowjob this week. It'll be interesting to see where they go with that.

Again, I know they have at least a season and a half to go, but it really does feel like they're kind of starting to wrap things up on this show.

Its like the biggest difference between Ricky Gervais Office character and Steve Carell's.

At no point of the UK Office did I believe Rickys character ever has a chance or should have gotten a chance to be the manager. Hell, I have a hard time believing he could hold a job for more than 2 months. He had absolutely no personality, sales skills or could be liked in the least.

While with Steves guy you saw glimpses of the salesman he was when he would go into sales meeting at time. Sure he was an idiot at times, but you could actually like him and was a funny goof instead of a terrible human being and actually believe at some time he can be manager.

If they move all the good stuff (Sunny, Louie, Legit) and the popular (Anger Mgmt.) to FXX than FX just becomes an old movie channel that no one will watch.

Another really good episode tonight. I loved the way they brought Da'Maniac back in.

And I've noticed this season they're getting back to the whole thing of the reveal of the title being the punchline to a joke. This week, after Dennis and Mac call Charlie and Dee suckers and say they could never be ripped off like that, we find out the title is "Dennis and Mac Buy a Timeshare." And last week, after The Gang talks about how they don't care if they get an award or not, we see it's "The Gang Tries Desperately To Win an Award." That was always one of my favorite things they do on this show, and I'm glad to see it back.

My favorite is when right after Frank says "You'd have to be a real lowlife piece of shit to run for office," the title of the episode is revealed to be "The Gang Runs for Office."

this show has all but put Danny DeVito to legendary status for me. So funny for so long across decades. He's the joke, makes the joke and turn you into the joke. Guy is just one hilarious fucking mofo.

I've never really gotten into The League. I think it's because the characters in that are too successful: it's one thing for The Gang in Sunny, who are basically losers and lowlifes (except for Frank, who's been very successful but decided to become a lowlife himself) acting terribly. But you feel like the guys in The League should know better than that.

I've always wondered how the Gang was able to afford the bar in the first place. I assume these days it'd be written off as Dennis stole/borrowed money from Frank, but Frank wasn't involved in the concept for the show. It is a shithole in south Philly though, and Mac and Charlie weren't nearly as stupid in S1 as they are now, so I guess it wouldn't have been all that expensive.

I read way too much into this show. "Dee and Charlie Find Love" depressed me for three days.
