How many people out there still drive V-8s? If so, then what do you drive. I had to part with my '77 Cutlass, and I miss it. It looked like this:

sorry about your problems with V8 drink but maybe I should be more specific here: this is about V-8 car engines and the cars that use them

Okay, I'll try again...this thread is about people who have cars that have V-8 engines in them, not V8 tomato vegetable juice...

Nope. I have a 4 cylinder Chevy S-10 and a Chevy Venture with a V6
Last V8 I had was my 1981 Monte Carlo I wrecked in 2000.

Here's my thing with V-8 ... they tried moving over to the sweet market with a juice type veggie drink. Don't do that. It sucks and it's likely not even good for you.

:smile:Fresh out of V8 beverages...Well then it's never too late to talk about cars that people drive and if they have V-8 engines in them...

That sounds like lies to me, and besides we're talking cars here.

1996 Buick
Wagon with a stock LT-1. Sweet ride. Fast as shit.
Tough in the turns though. She needs shocks as she rolls a wee bit in the turns. P'rolly sway bar bushings too.
Great ride overall. Lotsa room.

I'm pretty sure that all hemis are V8s...I drive a Chrysler 300 V8 with a hemi for work and it gets about 28mpg on the highway. (like the caddy northstar it shuts down cylinders when you don't need them).
As for my personal car...A V8, an angry, German V8. Mine is the black one with Jersey plates...I get about 19-26mpg.

I got curious about the Hemi engine so I looked it up on offroaders.com
"'So...What's a Hemi anyways?" How is it differnt from other V-8 engines?
1) The combustion chambers are hemisperical in shape which creates better thermal and volumetric efficiency. Thus the engine can create more power without increasing compression. This in turn requires a higher octane feul.
2) The valve placement within the combustion chamber are directly across from each other, as opposed to side by side. This allows for better flow of the intake and exhaust gases.
3) The spark plugs are better positioned within the chamber to provide maximum ignition combustion.
The term "hemi engine" is a trademark of Chrysler Corporation, although the concept is used by many manufacturers.

I drive a 1999 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3 liter V-8. It gets about 19mpg highway and about 16mpg city and puts out about 290 horsepower.
Gas is going to have to get a little more expensive before I get rid of it.
I really don't like it......
I LOOOVE IT!!!!!

that is ONE SEXY CAR:flush:. I would say is from the car being SO heavy and the sawy bar bushing might be out but dont cause major body roll. If you are trying to do Le Mans i would say upgrade the sway bars in themselves. lol fast. hehe cute.

It's a chick repellant. Black socks and shorts are mandatory. My wife won't go anywhere near it. (Working just as planned)

No mods, unless you count a K&N filter. (I don't really need them...the entire body is made of aluminium)

i have a 2001 jeep grand cherokee limited. 5.2 litre V8. gets about 15 city and 19 highway. its just about to hit 100,000 miles and im going to drive it until it dies, which will hopefully be at least 4 more years. i was in an bad accident several years ago in my previous 98 grand cherokee in which i was rear ended by a semi. if i was in a car, i would have been seriously injured or killed. i don't think i will ever drive another vehicle.
